Interestingly, the real expense in buying paintings is usually they cost of framing it, unless you are buying something from one off the great artists. My wife sells paintings, and apparently one of the most common mistakes by people trying to make a living at it is to sell the picture already framed, which can easily double the price with a crappy frame, and the purchaser with end up changing it anyway if they have any taste (the frame needs to match your home decor)

My wife just bought frames that she thought matched and did it herself. You can buy the nice glass that cuts out UVs so the poster isn't faded. Each one would take her about 15 minutes so I recommend going that route.
