I cannot wait to see the crazy rear end sequence breaking poo poo that people get up to in this game once it's been out for a bit. Every time I think I'm being clever and trying something that most games would be like 'haha no gently caress you' it actually works. Most times it turns out the devs anticipated that and they put something to reward you. I go through rooms I've been in half a dozen times except this time I look UP and there's some poo poo there waiting for me. Goddamn this is a good game.

There is a lot more verticality in this game than I expected. The gloo gun is so rewarding, I don't think I have encountered a gap or climb I couldn't master with it yet.

Am I missing a shotgun? I'm meant to be going to the GUTS tunnels or something and it feels like the enemies have quickly overtaken my damage output by a HUGE margin. I have shells, but only a 9mm.

Really digging this though. I keep freaking myself out because I've tried to set up traps wherever I go and I forget about it and then I suddenly see an explosive tube in the middle of nowhere and think it's a mimic.

If I had to guess it would be avoiding primary story objective triggers so whatever the final narrative stuff is (which I have no idea about since I'm only in the Hardware area) it gets delivered with a 'really? you ended up here despite having no memories or guidance? What de heck?'

I like this. I don't believe anything pre-window smash is avoidable, but after that things are really open. In most games that first gate would be locked by the mission objective (getting the first neuromod), but it's not.

This seems a little too obvious, but maybe it's more specifically about ignoring January? It always annoys me when games like Bioshock chastise the player for blindly following their lead, when they give you no choice to do otherwise.

I am incredibly glad to see that Arkane Studios haven't broken their streak of amazing games.

May they never make a game that isn't great.

Yeah, I was planning ahead for my Typhon-only run and thinking 'how the gently caress am I even going to get to fabrication/et al' and then I remembered you can literally just jump up walls. loving superb design work there. Combine that with all the crawlspaces and alternate routes and Talos feels like Clockwork Mansion: The Game, which is pretty much 100% my jam.

You absolutely can and it's loving great. Bonus points for recycling as many dead turrets/Operators (and superfluous weapons) as possible in one grenade, those things give out CRAZY amounts of materials.

(early game spoilers) The "guy" on the radio is one of those trapezoid robots with your personality embedded. It shows up after you've watched the second half of the video in your office, and I assume you can (try to) kill it then. Though my intuitive guess is that it will just generate a new robot from the constructor so you can't actually "kill" it.

Honestly the advertising for this game could use some work because how is the box not just "YO WE MADE DISHONORED GUYS" because that series is my favorite thing and the first one alone bought that studio at least a decade of goodwill from me.

Here's my dumb, almost-certainly-wrong guess: Kill January before he can kill December, then do December's mission? Maybe that changes something?

Comically enough, I was on the train to work as I am every day and a goony looking guy was talking to a friend about it and how Bethesda doesn't send out review copies, but how he'll buy anything from ex-Looking Glass staff and all the 0451 business.

I chimed in "Thief II is the best game ever" and we started a nice chat. Heck, I'm installing Prey now, hope it's more System Shock and less Bioshock Infinite.
