You both are misinterpreting, I meant the Settings option in the app itself, that is literally labeled Application Settings. Had no idea there'd be other settings, for the app, in an entirely different Thing To Tap On.

Fair enough, I've never used the app in question but I've definitely used ones with some questionable decisions when it comes to settings organization.

You're conversing with a person who has managed to get a hotdog stuck in his windpipe Twice Just let that sink in for a bit and realise it's probably just them being dumb

In his defense the app is really unintuitive to use. I only use it over Textra because for some reason it takes a while for poo poo to sync with mighty text.

My brother showed me his GS8 a couple days ago. He had to get a new phone because the battery in his Nexus 6 took a huge dump. It's got Google Assistant installed, and a dedicated button for Bixby, Samsung's answer to Google Assistant and Siri from what I can tell. He told me half the time the button doesnt even do anything! Astounding!

Yeah Goggles has basically looked like a Gingerbread app forever. I assume they abandoned it with the intention of incorporating all of its functionality into Google Assistant somehow. But either it doesn't have it yet or it's just a lot harder to use for that purpose.

I like how now if I take a picture with the default camera Google Goggles may prompt a notification that it identified something, then when you click the notification Google Goggles tries to pull up and crashes. Super polished there, Google.

Google probably doesn't care about Goggles because they built the functionality into Now On Tap. http://www.androidcentral.com/google-now-tap-offers-app-translation-qr-code-scanning-and-more

Yeah, all you really have to do is open the camera app, bring the thing you want to scan in the window, and launch now on tap.

One of the big things Motorola really did right was building QR code reading right into the camera app.

On a related note, it's crazy how little time it takes for the screen on the S8 or G6 to look normal and make everything else look weird and fat.

Is there a to-do app out there that lets me get notifications at a regular or custom interval until I check off the items on it? My memory is terrible and I'm always on my phone, so I'd love it if my phone could sort of nag me over things I tell it to until I do said things.

Keep has okay reminders that can be continually postponed. It is also really easy to add things to Keep via "Ok Google", which is pretty nice.

Is there a lockscreen widget I can set up to show upcoming Google Now reminders? I'd like to keep a todo-list available at a glance so I can quickly see what all I have to do today. If no such thing exists for Google Now reminders, then I'd settle for a standalone solution even if it means going in and manually setting up todo's.

I asked for something similar a few years back, and was directed to NiLS. It's free, it's simple, and it works. There is an IAP to upgrade to Pro, but all that unlocks is some cosmetic options. Also, the dev was responsive when I contacted him with an issue, and he managed to fix it fairly quickly.
