Hello - we are going to be in Vegas Tuesday and Wednesday as the starting point for a 2 week loop around to Zion / Bryce / Arches / Grand Canyon. We are having a tough time finding a show, I'm recommending Absinthe, but my wife is deathly afraid of being pulled into an act or pointed out or something. I'm guessing sitting in the back is like the way to avoid this? Also half my reason for posting is just saying it sucks we are only spending two days because all these food/show/activity recommendations seem legit... e: Booked it - can't wait Crazyweasel fucked around with this message at 21:53 on May 6, 2017 |

Just wana put it out there, pai gow most chill game in existence. People even get annoyed when "gamblers" turn up and spend more than min bet. All about that low variance with free booze.

It has no effect on them if you bank or the house banks, but they don't seem to like it. I agree it is kind of a fun slow game.

Some Pai Gow players have an annoying habit of betting multiple seats or jumping around the table constantly to get a different hand, usually while blowing smoke in everyone's face. That can get annoying if you just want to hang out and drink while playing.

Last year when I went to Vegas I got drunk and sat down at a pai gow table in the Bellagio. I was betting stupid and eventually got to the point where I was betting a hundred bucks a hand, and I lost a bunch of hands in a row. Even the dealer told me to stop being stupid and walk away, but I wasn't satisfied until I had lost a thousand dollars. I still love the game, but god drat do I hate myself for being such a dumbass that one night.

They really dont mind.

Oh no, it wasn't even about setting hands, I was doing it all house way anyway. It was just an incredibly bad run of cards and I couldn't catch a break. Same thing would have happened if I was sober, just would have lost significantly less since a sober me would have bet the table minimum.

Even the dealer was coughing her lungs up. Can't knock the game though min bet, play bonus and let the drinks roll in.

Bachelor party question. I think the hotel has come down to Aria vs Wynn/Encore. Both are similarly priced our weekend. I've been to Aria and like it and it's location. I've never stayed at the Wynn and i think my only concern is its location at the end of the strip. Party is a mix of gamblers, partiers, quiet people, high spenders, and cheap people so options for various levels of gambling drinking and money spending are good. And if doing a pool party is it a lot better to be at a hotel with a good one vs transporting yourself to on at a different hotel.

I agree with maskenfreiheit about the pool, if you want to go to a specific one you should stay at that hotel. Aria and Wynn are pretty similar in terms of gambling, and both are across the street from a shopping mall with cheap restaurants and an ABC store to buy cheap alcohol. I don't think I would disqualify the Wynn just based on location unless you have a specific plan to walk towards the south end of the strip for a show or something one night.

The Wynn's location is fine. But if the cheap people like table games (or hotel rooms), they are hosed.coronaball posted:Just don't play that bonus game where you win a jackpot for a royal/straight flush etc. It might be the most -EV bet in the casino other than Keno. Wynn and Aria both do not have cheap tables or drinks though.

Cheapest? Maybe the El Cortez? The best? Definitely not the El Cortez. Realtalk I have a secret love affair with Ellis Island; however its a dive (its attached to a super 8 for their "hotel") so you better not take friends you're trying to impress there.

I go there every trip just for the steak and eggs (very +EV ) I stayed at Golden Nugget once for a poker trip, had a lot of fun and didn't really explore. What are the table limits like at El Cortez? Thinking of checking it out next time.

Can't speak to other table games but I imagine it's the same. Downtown the only place I've ever seen $10 or higher craps minimums is the Golden Nugget. Never seen higher than $5 at Fremont, Binion's, Downtown Grand, Cal, Plaza, and Main Street Station (actually, maaaaaybe saw $10 one time at Main Street). Fremont also always has at least one $3 table active, although it's only 2x odds and is jam packed on weekend nights. e: I'll also add that I usually go in the winter and I have no idea if things change during the summer months pig slut lisa fucked around with this message at 22:33 on May 12, 2017 |

I want to go to Vegas again but I'm thinking of holding off until early November when I can get some cheap rates. My question is, is Vegas really empty that time if year? I just don't want to feel like I'm in a ghost town while I'm there. For comparison, last year I went mid September and crowd levels were great. Also, is there a good resource for finding the new shows and stuff in Vegas?

Heading to Vegas in late June for some birthday celebrations. Looking into getting a daybed or cabana at Marquee Beach. Are there any good ways to go about finding a host or promoter to get the ball rolling, or should I book through their site?

Cool we're staying at the Golden Nugget for one night when we first arrive in the US, so we'll try and check it out. We're back a week or so later and staying at the Cosmo for a week, so that should be quite the contrast.
