It sounded like it was both lip-synced and off-beat at the same time, plus I sorta think gyms are sort of notorious for Really Bad Sound. If you aren't used to doing live performances in an environment where you hear yourself played back at you, it will wreck your world. Imagine trying to go along with a beat and lyrics when you are experiencing something like this: https://www.clicktorelease.com/code/speech-jammer/

The echoing is real bad

90's night at a Raptors game brought out loving Skee-lo for half time and he did a fifteen minute long medley of I Wish intercut with him yelling the chorus to In Da Club and it was the best half time show I've seen in my life. The worst half time show I saw in my life was a hundred people from the crowd brought out to do Zumba.

The best halftime show I saw was 10 very small children, maybe 3rd graders, from the local area playing a 5 minute game of full court basketball with the regulation rims. The crowd cheered about as loud for the kids as they did for the pros, agonizing over every missed shot by both teams and absolutely erupted when one of the kids finally scored to make it 2-0, which ended up being the final score for the game.

That sounds even better than kids vs. mascots with the mascots physically clowning on them.

I saw a half time show like that except at an NHL game. A bunch of little kids who could basically barely stand up playing hockey. They would all try to swarm around the puck and so there was a big pile up right in front of the one goal, and the puck squirts out to one kid who then has a full length of the ice breakaway. Over the 20 seconds it takes him to skate to the other goal, everyone who is at their seat takes notice. Like, half the stadium is standing in anticipation of what was going to happen between him and the goalie. He shot and hit the post. Like 10 thousand people let out an "Oh!" At this 6 year old for blowing his chance.

Even had a play by play announcer calling names / plays as we skated around. High five'd all the NHL players as we waited in line to get on the ice. Was pretty amazing tbh!
