Australian footballer and basketballer Erin Phillips has been dropped by her WNBA team, the Dallas Wings. The 31-year-old was co-captain of the Wings last year. In a one-line statement, the Wings announced today they had waived the guard ahead of their first game against the Phoenix Mercury. The WNBA season starts next week and Phillips could still be picked up by another team. Phillips previously said the Wings had been "amazing" in supporting and promoting her code switch. "I don't know how I'm going to do juggling two sports but we'll see," she said at the time. "It'll be a good test going back to Dallas but I'm really looking forward to that and then after that we'll just wait and see what happens."

There's a Bulldogs poster on Bigfooty that has been getting to Footscray VFL matches and posting as much vision of a player (both highlights and lowlights) on youtube as possible. Thanks to him I'm more undecided on Josh Prudden than ever before; he's a pretty decent defender, uses the ball well and is a strong tackle. However he was never the most agile player and he's lost even more thanks to two ACL injuries. It's a good thing that we rookied him last year because I would be so loving split on keeping him or not because he has so many good attributes.

I looked into it a little more, the Wings kept all 5 draft selections from this year, and waived all 3 veterans including Phillips, with the oldest kept player a 29 year old 6'5 power forward, everyone else being 26 or younger, so it seems like she was a victim of a rebuild.
