I'm getting geared up to move.
Just took a small load of stuff over to the in-laws, I bought a used Wii U on ebay (because there aren't any games for the switch yet), and I'm making strides on getting this CB400 running so I can ship out to a fellow goon on the opposite side of the country.

I'm also looking to get a trailer so I don't have to pay someone to move me. I think taking a load of stuff up with us every time we visit the wife's parents is much more preferred than paying someone to gently caress up my walls and furniture again. Also I'd get a trailer out of it so that's good.

You guys have any recommendations on trailers? Brands?

Also, my buddy got robbed yesterday at gunpoint in Minneapolis, which prompted him to ask me which gun to get.
He's fully aware that carrying, likely wouldn't have prevented what happened, nor would he even have brought his gun in this case anyway since he was flying carry-on only. No-the-less it's a reminder that he wants a gun.
He wants a .380 for conceal. I recommended the Glock 42 and Ruger LCP. You all have any other suggestions?
I tried to get him to get a Kimber but I think he's on a budget of <$500

Don't know if you're in the right thread, but Smith and wesson bodyguard .380s are coming with a rebate that makes em really desirable for the price (e: $199 after $50 rebate). Not a big fan of the lcp (I own one). Heard good things about the glock, too.

The P5 has 209K miles, good all season tires, and probably needs a precat to pass California Enhanced (dyno tailpipe) testing. No CEL, the main cat is good and the oxygen sensors are all new. I charged the A/C with R152a, Its stock down to the original stereo, and the only modification is energy swaybar bushings because OEM ones required dropping the front subframe. IND to SBP is only an hour layover in PHX. I think I have the window sticker, too!

edit: You can see how fast a P5 disintegrates in the salt, I remember seeing a 5 year old one from Vermont that the car folded in half.

I don't suppose by any chance you have a roof rack for the P5? If so and you'd consider selling it to me please PM me or email me, my user name at gmail dot com. I'm in the bay area (Concord) and ebay prices on OEM roof racks are nuts, when they appear at all.

That thing is rough for even an unmaintained tractor. I'm sure its nice to have a loader/backhoe that can drive over 20mph, but that is probably the worst condition 'newer' Unimog around that still runs. It'd be cheaper to buy a M35 and a Kubota than buy/fix that.

Do bulldozer trucks normally run up a lot of miles while pushing dirt around? Because I'm imagining a lot of these things just flown to some dirt airstrip somewhere so they can periodically push dirt around, and that's not exactly going to spin the odometer much but its still serving a purpose.

Not that I'm arguing with the base sentiment, mind you, a huge amount of military procurement is just pork for various congressmen to bring home to their districts.

What's the point of mounting it on a truck chassis if your not going to drive it on the road? There is none. A John Deere 310 backhoe can dig better and doesn't cost $110000 new. That thing literally looks like someone wanted to waste money by throwing in a ridiculous requirement on the procurement spec.
