I liked all the talking points which implied no one had ever run against Sanders or attacked him before. He's been winning elections for decades with people calling him a socialist gently caress the entire time

Like being proud of earning the popular vote in this context would be like if Space Race era United States and Russia both had shuttles explode during launch on the same day but we celebrate because our shuttle reached a higher altitude before self-immolating with the crew aboard.

The "Hillary is inevitable" message that her campaign put out ironically was the only message that ever got any traction. And it backfired. How many people seriously thought Trump had a chance? There are a not-insignificant number of people who spite-voted for Trump thinking it didn't matter anyway. And an even larger group who stayed home, not enthused about Clinton but comfortable enough with the way things were going to accept her victory, and not actively wishing to go vote against her. I don't get why the team pushed "it's happening, deal with it" so hard. Has there ever been any struggle or political movement that actively pushed "don't bother, the outcome won't change" as a way to build support?

Somehow their plan to make people feel small and powerless worked its magic. So they stayed home and let the Republicans elect Trump. A+ strategy, Clintonites. Also I liked the occasional rabid liberal attacking Sanders for being Socialist or even Communist. Dude, you claim to be on the left - you're supposed to be FOR Socialism. Still get a kick out of that video (somewhere) where some girl punches a protester, gets arrested and then her dopey BF asks if he can "talk to my comrade". These people are an argument against democracy because they don't even know the basics of history.
