I liked all the talking points which implied no one had ever run against Sanders or attacked him before.

He's been winning elections for decades with people calling him a socialist gently caress the entire time

Like being proud of earning the popular vote in this context would be like if Space Race era United States and Russia both had shuttles explode during launch on the same day but we celebrate because our shuttle reached a higher altitude before self-immolating with the crew aboard.

it's because the Democratic party machine thought that near unilateral mass media control of both entertainment and information media was a surefire way to win an election in 2016. I mean, how could they lose?

Donald Trump just uses Twitter, there's no way he has a chance

If your models tell you you're going to win the swing states and your strategy is to penetrate into red territory, then tim kaine makes sense.

Keep in mind that the hillary campaign didn't even use polling, they used mathematical models.

The only way to get huge fast is to insult a passing witch and hope she curses you with Beast-strength.

The "Hillary is inevitable" message that her campaign put out ironically was the only message that ever got any traction. And it backfired. How many people seriously thought Trump had a chance? There are a not-insignificant number of people who spite-voted for Trump thinking it didn't matter anyway. And an even larger group who stayed home, not enthused about Clinton but comfortable enough with the way things were going to accept her victory, and not actively wishing to go vote against her.

I don't get why the team pushed "it's happening, deal with it" so hard. Has there ever been any struggle or political movement that actively pushed "don't bother, the outcome won't change" as a way to build support?

For every blue-collar Democrat we lose in western Pennsylvania, we will pick up two moderate Republicans in the suburbs in Philadelphia, and you can repeat that in Ohio and Illinois and Wisconsin

Somehow their plan to make people feel small and powerless worked its magic. So they stayed home and let the Republicans elect Trump. A+ strategy, Clintonites.

Also I liked the occasional rabid liberal attacking Sanders for being Socialist or even Communist. Dude, you claim to be on the left - you're supposed to be FOR Socialism. Still get a kick out of that video (somewhere) where some girl punches a protester, gets arrested and then her dopey BF asks if he can "talk to my comrade". These people are an argument against democracy because they don't even know the basics of history.

I was one of those rare posters here sounding the alarm that Obama hadn't really done much, Hillary was unlikable and people would throw a brick at DC via Trump, and I was widely mocked for it.

I'll always be proud of that posting cred.
