Well, Samsung TVs ARE running Tizen https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/04/samsungs-tizen-is-riddled-with-security-flaws-amateurishly-written/ I feel like we've cracked Samsung's business model. Make horribly insecurity products and get a anti-malware company to pay them for cross promotion.

I don't doubt TVs can get malware but there's no way antivirus software on it would ever catch it.

The caseology parallax is pretty nice and about £10 on amazon. I'm using the blue one and the mouldings make is really nice to hold.

Be sure you get the correct one.

I have the above Diztronic case in matte gray for my Pixel and it works great. There's some dings on the case after 6 months of use, but it's better that the case absorbs the damage than the phone itself. Also, I like the Diztronic since it seems to be about the thinnest case you can get and it's not a rubbery/sticky feel. I also have the Yootech glass screen protector and it protected my screen when I dropped it onto concrete. It doesn't cover the entire front face and there's a 1mm uncovered border all the way around the edges but it doesn't bother me. Especially since there's a raised lip on the Diztronic case anyway. I've been looking up the XDA forums every now and then to see if there's a full-coverage glass protector but it doesn't seem like any company can get coverage on the curved edges of the Pixel. lowcrabdiet fucked around with this message at 18:40 on May 12, 2017 |

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/05/google-hopes-to-fix-android-updates-no-really-with-project-treble/quote:Ahead of Google I/O, Google has just dropped a bombshell of a blog post that promises, for real this time, that it is finally doing something about Android's update problems. "Project Treble" is a plan to modularize the Android OS, separating the OS framework code from "vendor specific" hardware code. In theory, this change would allow for a new Android update to be flashed on a device without any involvement from the silicon vendor. Google calls it "the biggest change to the low-level system architecture of Android to date," and it's already live on the Google Pixel's Android O Developer Preview.

Maybe three releases from now, when compartmentalization actually is three releases old. If they don't fall behind further because they want to use old parts with old version drivers and what is this effort thing people keep talking about.

Yo I have a galaxy s8+ and am loving the phone itself, but this otterbox defender/alpha glass combo is not inspiring confidence. My first screen protector cracked for no discernable reason and they helpfully sent me a new one at shipping cost, but I'm worried it's just gonna happen again. I work for a cell provider and sell/apply a few screen protectors a day, so I know it wasn't user error. I hate to miss out on my company discount by buying a brand we don't carry, but if anyone can recommend a more reliable (very protective) case solution, I'll absolutely give it a shot.

Why would you buy the prettiest yet most fragile phone on the market if you're just going to slap it in such a bulky case? The way the phone is designed makes it a nightmare for anyone who wants a phone that can take a drop without issues, even in the most protective of cases. It's also a nightmare for anyone who wants to use a screen protector due to the curved edges and the protectors are causing a lot of false touch issues for other S8 users who insist on using one.

In Chrome when I type the letter "x" it suggests xhamster and xvideos. Obviously, disabling search suggestions is a simple solution. But I like when it suggests my usual (non-porn) sites. I've long pressed to remove xhamster and xvideos. However, the urls to specific videos from removed sites still show up. I don't want to delete my browser hx because I like to have my history backed up (so I can find a porn I liked without it getting mixed up in my bookmarks). Any idea how to make it so when I remove xhamster, it'll also remove xhamster/grandmas_first_anal_pov and whatnot. S7, 7.0. Don't act like you don't look at porn on your phone now!!

It looks like Moto may not have given up on the Moto X line after all! http://phandroid.com/2017/05/12/moto-x-2017-video-leak/ I've been thinking about replacing my MXP lately, but if they actually release another Moto X I may spring for that instead of the Pixel or Pixel 2 or whatever. I'm fully aware it probably won't be as good in the long run but I really like the little improvements the Pure adds to Android.
