*sigh* sure. it's a weed joke
ok so some people dont get that jfs are basically invuln to anything other than ignorance, moving on

my question is why should ccp make it difficult to ferry stuff around? the people who actually want to do it are few or brokebrained, yet if it doesnt happen, hundreds of players who dont want to do it will gently caress off if there's no ships to fly. im pretty sure it's in ccp's interest to keep people flying spaceships, in space. the idea of SPACE CONVOY ESCORT DUTY makes me feel sick and i wont ever play eve again either way

If you made it so JFs couldn't enter highsec escort duties would involve people just protecting freighters traveling one jump into lowsec, which isn't a long or drawn out thing. This would allow CCP to properly balance ganking because you can't have true balance when you can ignore all of the problems (risk -> gankers) by just buying a more expensive ship. It also adds in more non-consensual pvp gameplay, where 'convoy' assassinations could be a real thing. It's just one jump of vulnerability in a freighter, or a dozen with a DST. It's not escorting freighters dozens of jumps which is mega lovely.

You could still move stuff rather easily from a highsec system to your lowsec JF pretty quickly with DSTs or BRs by yourself and it wouldn't be that hard to be honest, but if you want to move large volumes very quickly you'd probably need more support and people to help you out, so one guy can't supply 90% of the doctrine ships of an entire alliance.

If you want an albion online metaphor, jfs are basically using the fast travel feature, but it's to every single city, and the prices are negligible to the stuff you're moving. There is no way to interact with the movement of goods and resources which is a massive reduction in potential content out there, for people trying to move their goods, for people trying to catch people moving their goods, people organizing to move their goods together, and so on.

According to pubbies, the game allows us to rat and mine too much with only sov in Delve. They think we should have to conquer more territory in order to get those numbers.

It's basically thinly-veiled bullshit. It's either because they think we can cover too much territory with capital escalations, or they are still butthurt about the fact that we didn't fight in the casino war, nearly a year later, that they are grasping at anything that might maybe put our heavy assets on field.

Cant make everyone happy for sure, but goons are uncommonly skilled at wringing wealth out of their space. Did we make more cash in deklein or delve? For sure the distribution of how that wealth is earned has shifted, with the buffed rorqual and completely revamped production systems. A lot of ratters have shifted to mining or production to get their isk on it seems.

We make more money in Delve, by far. And, yeah, the distribution of income sources has changed significantly. The part I personally handle, moongoo, only makes up 30% of our total income, compared to the halcyon technetium days, where it was nearly all moongoo.

Skip the Omen and go straight to the Omen Navy Issue. It's totally tits. The Oracle is paper thin and not very good unless you're flying with people who can hold poo poo down while you nuke from a distance.

ONI is awesome. It's also super cheap and a bit more forgiving than an Oracle (at least in my experience).

I'm no sov expert, but it seems to me to make sense that even if you own less space (in the Fozzie system) you can still draw more wealth from it, given your inherent ability to keep ADMs higher and more easily defend those making money (as long as they aren't mega retarded).

That's pretty much what fozziesov has enabled, but our enemies don't have enough heart (or warm bodies) to do what we do. Almost any nullsec sov bordering empire has potential to wring as much isk out as Delve, but almost noone has the combined brainpower and autism to do that.

This is what meat is supposed to be like, dingus
On the topic of jump freighters. The current risk profile in that you need to make a misstake to die is fine. Because if you take the initial investment. The isk per hour income. And then split that with the isk per hour income of other activities that have a minimal initial investment. Then you get a tolerance of about 1 JF loss per 400 or 500 trips

I mean sure if you lost 1 per about 100 trips you would probably break even on isk. But only if you consider all the human effort to be free.

To be truly even on a JF loss it would have to recoup the cost of the ship, the human effort spent recouping the isk. As well as the collateral of the cargo.

The current system kills dumb JF pilots on a regular basis. But it also kills veteran JF pilots in droves whenever something is changed with the mechanics (about once or twice per year) Like alpha phoenixes or gate bumping.

CCP can balance it however they like but players will adapt. Greatet risks have to be recouped by higher prices for logistics. Which will incourage smaller ship doctrines closer to high sec. Jump Freighters will never stop flying no matter how easy they are to kill. The question is who will afford to hire them and what will be worth transporting.

What the gently caress do they do with that isk? Chinese gold farmers usually sell the currency they farm but id assume ccp would leap the gently caress all over a Corp whose main activity is grinding isk to sell for lucre

Fozziesov didn't really affect how dense we could make Delve. Density of this quality was possible back in 2009, when Dominion was released; it's contingent on ihub mechanics. The only other contributing factor, really, is Phoebe -- shorter jump ranges reduce the total surface area you can cover with capital escalations.

The only time that you need serious amounts of ISK is when you want to fly big expensive things. With a billion isk you can have a fleet of ships, or one really good ship. There's a lot of debate on what is better to use, but I think it can be said fairly clearly, 1000 titans > 1000 rifters, even if you kill one titan, you lose objectives when your enemy can just hyper-dunk everything sub cap that you can even dream of fielding. Which means you need to have a fairly strong basis of wealth generation for members on an individual level, or subsidies for cap pilots.

Never forget, the only way to win in eve is to make it as unfun and annoying for the other side to play as possible, then go for the throat when resistance is crippled to nothing. When you are hell camped by drive by titans from cloaky camping, that is pretty drat unfun.
