I do it in public and have a really crappy excuse for why I'm on fire and naked but I only need to do it once or twice a year and it's a good time saver.

In Chrome when I type the letter "x" it suggests xhamster and xvideos. Obviously, disabling search suggestions is a simple solution. But I like when it suggests my usual (non-porn) sites. I don't want to delete my browser hx because I like to have my history backed up (so I can find a porn I liked without it getting mixed up in my bookmarks).

Any idea how to make it so when I remove xhamster, it'll also remove xhamster/grandmas_first_anal_pov and whatnot.

I hate blindly hating chinese software but somehow that just creeps up on me, must be getting old. There's a firewall program that adblocks by country or app and it recommends full blocking Iran, North Korea ya know the "axis of evil" and so on and so forth and will tell you in no uncertain terms which of your apps are phoning home and to what country and my favorite file manager (which you can get to tell on itself for the lols) is one of these that will not stop communicating with a chinese server. It's probably not too dastardly or nefarious and I let the thing have my dropbox creds because well, it's actually the best at what it does and it's not a critical thing but it still worries me some.

it's really hard to tell if a company that is failing is failing because they didn't step in line or that they are trying to recover from a long trend of sucking hard by brown-nosing the feds

or maybe they're just terrible?

apple has more money than google for example and they at least entertained a narrative that their messaging software was secure

google has more money than most demigods need and their core business is ad money and selling ads which yeah who cares

At this point I love/hate gboard. I used to use Swype, but it is practically abandoned at this point and nothing ever gets fixed. So I've resorted to using gboard, but it is quite inferior to Swype in auto-correction, prediction, and shortcuts. There is just no perfect keyboard. I can't win.

Pretty sure it use to have a setting to control how aggressively it corrected words, but think that got removed. Maybe one of the predictive text settings would help make it correct misspelled words but not be so aggressive to change correctly spelled words that it doesn't think I meant to use?

Swype just got a update within the last month that fixed my primary complaint: secondary characters are now able to be enabled on all themes so I switched back. I think they got rid of swiping above the suggestion bar to capitalize so it's not perfect but it's better than Gboard was.

Try turning off 'next-word suggestions' - it stops it using the previous word to make a guess at what you meant, and 'bla your' is probably more common than 'bla youth'

It's meant to Just Work so it sometimes re-corrects itself when you type more, and it's meant to learn the more you type, but it's mostly annoying

Welp, I took a look. Secondary characters work now, which is great. Also, swiping to shift to adjust capitalization works again. And tapping the swype button to highlight the current work is working. So yeah, it looks like the swipe up to capitalize is the last frustrating bug that is still left for me, but the swipe to shift helps out a lot with that one.

Speaking of ad blocking, I stopped rooting my phones and just started using AdHell. It uses Knox to block ads and it works with Chrome so I can finally stop using Firefox which makes many webpages look like poo poo. Seems to work just as well as AdAway does, minus the root requirement.
