Jose posted:UKIP were polling 15% at the last election and all of that vanishing has gone to the tories. labour are polling exactly the same as 2015 showing its not really corbyn thats been a problem Yeah, it's worth pointing out that Labour have lost seats at every election since 1997. The idea that getting rid of Corbyn will solve all the party's problems is... Optimistic, to say the least.

get that OUT of my face posted:i remember after the brexit vote happened, there was analysis that said that the Good Friday agreement could be in trouble because of it. has anything come of that? There's some strong indications that the tory plan is to wipe their asses with it, although mostly accidentally as I doubt half of them even acknowledge that it's a thing (and it's not like Ireland is in a position to do anything about it without either another civil war or international support)

get that OUT of my face posted:i remember after the brexit vote happened, there was analysis that said that the Good Friday agreement could be in trouble because of it. has anything come of that? The Northern Ireland government had an election and was unable to form a governing coalition back in february or march. They got several deadline extensions but IIRC its now on hold with the snap general election. If they can't form a governing coalition then they will return to direct rule by westminster. No one knows what the implications of brexit will be for the irish border. It's entirely possible that NI will be under direct rule and also that hard borders with customs controls will be erected between NI and Ireland proper due to the brexit. If that's the case, there won't be much of the good friday agreement left in force.
