I had no idea Force India was doing that good. They get surprisingly little coverage. No Brits on the team, I guess.

That's unfortunate. Don't think I was following around his crash and subsequent news.

When was the last time that a car overtook another, different car for the race win out on track? If you discount the various times Hamilton overtook Rosberg because that was just embarrassing for everyone involved.

First that springs to mind is Hamilton on Vettel in the 2012 US GP. There has to have been some since then right?

They've been quietly getting better for a decade. Their CC finishes have been 10,9,7,6,7,6,6,5,4 and they're 4th again this year which is probably the realistic ceiling for a true customer team.

2014 Hungarian GP where Are Dan passed both Alonso and Hamilton on the track to win the race (as he was on newer tyres)

Bear in mind their result here was based on 3 usual top 7 finishers DNFing. They have been trailing the top few for a while though.

Didn't sky say Perez had or was coming close to the record for longest point scoring streak with 17 races.

Tbh, starting mid pack and avoiding everyone else's gently caress ups does show a staggering amount of spacial awareness. Take That chucklefuck Bottas. Don't blame Max or Kimi for that, no loving poo poo Sherlock there is going to be more than one car alongside you going into the first corner. if you are on the outside it's not just the guy next to you you have to watch for, it's the others next to him that you can't see that's the problem. It was sheer rookie level arrogance to push kimi sideways instead of leaving the track. He had such a slim chance of not taking himself out with that move and it's a huge shame he didn't because, like Rosberg when he kept pulling that poo poo, he's learned nothing and will do it again. :impotentshakefist:

The advantage Perez has is that he's aggressive enough to believe he can concede a position at the start and simply retake it later. Many drivers are much less confident and try to win the race on the first few corners because they think their only chance to overtake is in that mayhem.

I mean Bottas was on the inside of the first corner and Max Verstappen was far too aggressive in pushing down the outside.
I'm not saying it wasn't Bottas' fault, I'm saying it wasn't entirely Bottas fault.

And yeah, Force India have come a long way from Lol di Resta and Adrian Sutil.
