ABC posted:

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has suggested politics played a role in the blocking of his bid to deport six refugees, after some had travelled to Iran to go "back for a holiday".

One man, who had told the Federal Government he was at risk of execution in Iran, made three return trips to the country, while another travelled back to get married.

Mr Dutton wanted the men deported, along with four others.

But the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), which reviews decisions made by Federal Government ministers, departments and agencies, blocked the bid.

Mr Dutton said it was important to note the tribunal's president Justice Duncan Kerr, whose term expired yesterday, was a former federal Labor MP.

"When you look at some of the judgements that are made, the sentences that are handed down it's always interesting to go back to have a look at the appointment of the particular Labor Government of the day," Mr Dutton told Sydney radio station 2GB.

"Anyway, it's a frustration we live with."

Justice Kerr will remain as a Federal Court judge and Mr Dutton said the Government will make "new appointments" when they come up.

"We won't continue the appointments of some people and that's how the system works," he said.

Mr Dutton told Melbourne radio station 3AW it was frustrating when decisions made by him and Immigration Department officials are overturned by the AAT.

"Some of these cases are infuriating and without commenting on the six here there are many cases that I look at where, on the facts available to me, you shake your head," he said.

She did it all through Uni, as anyone who was at Adelaide Uni at the time will confirm and continue to loving despise her over, and she's still doing it now, but for some reason the SA Greens refuse to catch wise.

I guarantee you there isn't a single Greens policy she wouldn't flip on if she thought there was enough personal gain out of it.

Ya that's basically what the NBN guy said. I'm actually closer and should get better speeds. Also the physical topology can be bizarre, like being next to a node but going hundreds of metres away to the junction (what's the jargon for that these days?)

It's a hell of a lot easier to worm your way up to the top of the third party and then jump over, than it is to try it from scratch in one of the duopoly. Again, I point to Cheryl Kernot.

The Pillar, and on top of that there are people who have a pillar and node 100m away from their house, but get 15/1 because for reasons not fully understood they're plugged into a pillar over 1km away.

As for ISP, I'm tossing up between Telecube, AussieBroadband, and Skymesh at the moment, but the hardware is also an ongoing debate.

Optics. It'd be a very public falling out and it would look like we're turfing her for political gain. Plus "the Greens aren't like the major parties" bullshit is still prevalent among members (see "the Greens don't have factions" or "we put policy over politics")

For the 6 month duplication period, which is the first 6 months after NBN is turned on in your CMD and the old copper service remains in operation, they're only obligated to provide 12/1. The obligation to provide 25/5 doesn't kick in until the 6 mmonth period is over, by which time they're hoping most people will have forgotten, and just let it go, saving them lots of money. It's a pretty massive scam, and partly why all the scummiest ISPs like Telstra, TPG, and Optus are offering 100/40, 25/5, and 12/1, instead of the 100/40, 50/20, and 25/5 that are the NBNco defaults, the other reason being they want people hitting the 25 ceiling to jump right onto the top dollar 100 plans, whether they can actually do better than 50 or not.

This Coalition "NBN" is a pretty big shambles.
