Slight nitpick: He doesn't say "That's a lot of Jesuses", he says "That's a lot of Jesus", pursuant to the followup line from Wednesday that's something like "People need a lot of Jesus".Rocksicles posted:I don't know, i'll wait for the information to be volunteered rather than go looking for it. I posted in the spoiler thread an interview where Fuller says that 100% of the penises in this show are CGI or dildos. 100%. Even factoring a 10% bonus for giant jinn cock, that was still maybe 15% the penis time of a normal Spartacus episode.

You know another thing I like about American Gods is that Gaiman continues the trope of the Hecate sisters with the Zorya sisters. I also like how Gaiman made up those characters and they have no basis in actual slavic mythology

Encyclopedia of Russian and Slavic myth and legend disagrees with you. He made up the 3rd sister though, that's probably what you're remembering. Mixing the slavic Zorya sisters in with the Hecate sisters or the three Greek Fates.

achillesforever6 posted:No it felt more like basically every segment that Death was in in the Sandman were it would talk to the dead and lead them to their afterlife (sometimes while trying on a really cool hat from the Emperor of North America) I hope we get more Death god segments. Blink-and-you'll-miss-it but Death's in the book when Easter shows up. Maybe we'll get a cameo.

Mad Sweeney is the breakout surprise of the show and could only be better if he were being played by Joe Gilgnun, which would also be a neat wink and a nod since Preacher was contemporary to Sandman.

I've personally found all of Pablo Schreiber's roles to have a strange but insistent charisma to them that has nothing to do with the fact that he is an extremely handsome man.

achillesforever6 posted:Yeah Gaiman just likes the idea of the trinity with the maiden, the mother, and the crone. It was great in the Sandman when the Hecate sisters were based on famous pop culture interpretations of witches. He and Terry Pratchett influenced each other, though most mostly Terry advised. The premise of AG is also the premise of Small Gods though on the disc world, with a very cynical tortoise god, where all his worshippers only fear his church and have forgotten him. It's a satire on organised religion. RE: Witches Three. 'She has very nice hair.' Is such a great/nasty put down.

He's one of three actors on the show that are incredibly good at playing real capital 'B' Bastards Ian McShane in Deadwood and Johnathan Tucker in Justified are the other parts of some sort of amazing Bastard Trinity. I'm loving this completely batshit insane show, and am still delightfully amazed it got greenlit.
