Yeah I think it actually sounds dangerous since it, at the very least, being super dehydrated makes it harder to concentrate and react to stuff. IIRC Spain was warm but not like super hot and humid like Singapore or Malaysia surely will be and he sounded like he was some random bus driver they plopped into an F1 car.

They're using a low-drag config, so obviously they look different from your traditional road course open wheel car, not to mention the bumpers. It's the last year of this specific aero package, and next year they're ditching the bumpers. And the airbox Sadly they've only released images of the speedway setup, not the road course one. Also, expect Honda to take an edge next year over Chevy when everyone uses the same aero again. Their engine comes onto power quicker than Chevy's, but their aerokit currently doesn't produce as much downforce as the Chevy one. e: oh, and it's still using the same chassis as this year, so as long as you have an intact one, you don't need to buy a brand new one, which helps with costs. iospace fucked around with this message at 14:21 on May 16, 2017 |

Jesus Christ you guys, things were going so well with anthropomorphic analogies and a bit of watch talk then it got very toxic, because of that Tony Montana guy. The split did nasty things to top-level AOWR as a whole (and gave NASCAR the means to become huge... and then proceed to gently caress it all up). They're arguably still recovering, but they're stable now and starting to take a couple of bolder steps (like trying aerokits). Though then again, racing as a whole took a huge hit when tobacco left, but that's a universal problem. I am glad to see that F1 though is taking some pages out of Indy's book, at least in regards to fan interaction.

Partially this, but also if you're wearing an expensive watch that has fancy complications, it would seem reasonable that you would know something about them (Lewis kind of gets a pass on this because he hasn't shelled out any of his own money for it, and it was likely handed to him by a sponsor without much conversation other than "wear this").

iospace posted:I am glad to see that F1 though is taking some pages out of Indy's book, at least in regards to fan interaction. Lol don't flatter yourself F1 didn't have to look to some dead racing series full of wash ups. BTCC, WEC, Formula E, Super GT, V8 Supercars.... Pretty much all of these other series have always had open and welcoming experiences with a lot of fan interaction and where they actually looked to to open things up. I mean hell just look at MotoGP and how Dorna manages all of that. The only thing that F1 becoming more open shows is that it was literally Bernie. It wasn't some mass elitism it was literally Bernie holding things up. All that's left is for Liberty to balance it maintaining that elitist top tier feel and also being fan friendly. WEC does a great job at this for example. IndyCar, the more I look into it after that first relatively enjoyable Alabama Grand Prix I watched (lol), the more I'm amazed it's even still around and existing. Also literally the dumbest onboard cameras that have ever been implemented.

Was that a concern? I thought we talked about that at some point. It shouldn't really matter, there are loads of cars who repeat colours, and McLaren didn't have a clear "team colour" that had been consistent very long.
