I've been working my way through my bar's stock of cans and bottles of beer because I'm bored of drinking Mickeys' and Jameson. So far I've found out that I love Gose beers, and that Maui Bikini Blonde is a genuine godsend It tastes the way that beer tastes in commercials. Getchu some for summer

We haven't executed anyone for treason in way too long. It let the traitors feel safe. While I've softened on capital punishment as I get older I think perhaps we are due to let some heads roll and remind those in office who they work for and the consequences of selling out their country.

FFFFUUUUUUCK someone stole my Lumix G5 camera from my car. I have a feeling it was Monday, while roaming around town going thrift shopping. I had it buried under a ton of poo poo in the passenger footwell, had forgotten about it (inside a grey trapezoidal case). There were a few stops I left the car unlocked unintentionally, as I wasn't just thrift shopping, but at the end also searching for a specific office building with an ambiguous address. It's only like $250 worth of stuff gone, but that's a lot of money to me. Welp

BTW, people have been saying extra demand for hops has been going crazy since at least 2010. I think there was even a shortage for home brew shops even before that, maybe 2008?. So many dedicated home brewers even started trying to grown their own back then.

Finally broke down and took the car into the dealer yesterday for a couple of recalls, since the notices I've been getting in the mail keep getting more insistent. Last notice was full 8-1/2 x 11" bright neon orange paper.. haha.. The recalls were IMO minor, one for door latches to be replaced, and one to reprogram the body control module since apparently if I pushed the release button while moving at under 4 mph it would open the hatch. Neither is a big deal to me, but figured I would take care of them. Dropped the car off in the morning and they gave me a ride home (telecommute day). 3pm the service advisor calls me... Somehow while updating the body control module, they managed to brick it. So they still have the car today and supposedly a new module coming in overnight to fix it. Guess I'll know sometime today, but I told them that I absolutely need a loaner/rental if it goes beyond today. ----------- In work news (I was a bit behind on this thread), I get paid to find fault with the work of software developers. I'm a QA guy. I am constantly amazed by some of the goofy things that the developers do. We have a drop-down field where a user selects from several values. The values selected then drive other triggers/functionality. The drop down menu though is not hard coded, it comes from values in the database depending on the Hardware/Software combination being used. The values that are displayed in the drop down menu are tied to a numeric value in the database, and are not consistent across different hardware/software for reasons that are a mystery lost in time (the values come from a different application). Example (HWSW - Display on screen - Numeric value): HWSW1 - Selection One - 2 HWSW2 - Selection One - 3 HWSW3 - Selection One - 1 We have some new functionality in the next release that has rules that depend on these selections, so when I begin testing, the first HWSW works fine, firing the rule as expected, but the other two don't work, and the rule doesn't fire... Of course the developer has directly hard-coded the rule to look for a value of "2" in the code, rather than doing a query to look up what the actual value for Selection One is for that specific HWSW being used.

Just had an older guy with Oirish accent tried to sell me tools out the back of his van (I had a look, none were mine), and then wanted my postcode "because I have a friend who's lost somewhere near here and want to make sure we meet up" Yeah, my arse. Logged it with 101 and gave them his reg number. Fair play to the police, their reaction to "Man with Irish accent selling tools out back of van" was one step from "say no more fam".

That is the most transparent "where do you live, I want to rob you" question I've heard in a long time. I'm surprised he didn't ask when you worked or if you lived alone, as long as he was being as subtle as an Oirish accent would allow him to be Larrymer posted:oh so you're too much of a PUSSY to handle REAL MAN BEER made with a HOP NUKE that PUNCHES YOU IN THE FACE WITH BITTERNESS?
