I feel like they used to bring 2 compounds to every race up until like the mid 90s or something anyway, and teams could choose which to run. I might be misremembering that or mixing it up with other series though.

One lasts until the next pit stop, the other blows apart before the next pit stop.

Yeah can I be honest, I hate change because usually it's "too much, too often", just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. But these look great. Getting Chicagoland out of the playoffs because no one cares. Putting Richmond in the playoffs because everyone cares. And making Indy the last race before the playoffs because history and prestige. I'm on board with all three of those.
