So how late did they put Jetpacks into the game? I only ask because half the enemy characters don't have jump animations and just randomly teleport.

But you know what won't interrupt reloading? The cobra, when you really need to use it right now, and not be trapped in a reload animation

This might have been caused by the entire engine switch the game went through tbh. Partly why it feels so robotic in places.

Also loving hell Outlaws have got some fat HP stacks, hate fighting them now.

Spent the night playing the Asari Duelist, going against conventional wisdom and eschewing melee. Using the PAW to prime and Lance/Charge to detonate is a pretty fun way to play her. Means I don't have to wrestle with the clunky (IMO) animation of the Asari Sword, cool as it looks.

How are the pet abilities in the game after the patches? I unlocked the Salarian Architect and have been thinking of playing one of the Engineers but I have no idea if it's worth bothering with the VI and Turrets respectively. Barricade looks kinda crap as well?

They added a zero to the remnant VI's rocket damage and halved its delay between shots. In other words, it's a sight better than it used to be.

Glad to see that they didn't bother to keep the architecture that let them rebalance the game without client patches, but they can still make the grind even worse with just a server tweak so they'll jump all over that!

Depending who you ask Barricade is either nice to have or basically pointless. I'm still not impressed with the turret, but the remnant VI does some real good damage with its missiles now (since they made it do literally TEN TIMES what it used to). It'll still freak out and run around on its own ignoring you sometimes though.

The turret is... okay. I normally just plunk it down in an area where it has a good view and run off and do other things for the few seconds to a few minutes its around.

The turret is good for one thing only, to distract stuff for a few seconds so you don't die immediately. But yeah, the VI got a lot better, but it still suffers from not being in your direct control.

I like the architect just fine.
Its pretty squishy, and a full auto weapon with an ammo booster is p much mandatory.

There's an upgrade that says it makes the VI try to fight closer to enemies, which basically means it will just teleport from enemy to enemy and won't really pay any attention to you. Try respeccing to the other upgrade if you're using that. Although it will still get pretty separated sometimes.

Played like 4 games against kett today, haven't noticed an uptick in sync kills. I sure have noticed that every single cobra I fire at a fiend does zero damage though! I know it's a fact of life but I still have to try, drat it. 0/5 across 3 games before I just saved the drat things for ascendants, like you should do I guess. Fiends are just the most frustrating thing. Okay, no - the most frustrating thing is having the bar for getting an ultra-rare move from 500k to 1mil (because platinum packs supposedly still have the pity timer), but fiends come a close second.

Ever since the patch, fiends have become a lot easier to handle. Granted, I almost exclusively play with friends, so we have voicechat and all that, and none of us suck, so maybe that's why.

They still have the uncanny ability to sneak up on me and sync kill, though, which is comforting. No tele-grabs anymore.

What level of equipment do you recommend for playing Gold? I've got a few weapons at Silver IX/X and some decent classes, but the leap from Bronze to Silver was quite a jump.

Equip disruptor ammo and you will be fine

There are still no elevation checks on sync kills, it's extemely good.

Use a soldier with any of the uncommon sniper rifles and an ammo booster and you should be ok. If you host, then pick remnant and use electric ammo and you shouldn't find the transition that jarring. Just accept that using consumables will be a much more common thing on gold

And now that the pity streak or whatever is over, maybe peeps will buy supply packs and actually use poo poo.

I ran out of cobras for the first time ever last weekend, its cool as hell.

Your pubbie teammates will still adamantly refuse to medigel themselves up in the middle of the wave 6 objective when they get downed on the other side of the map in a place where there is no chance anyone else can revive them, leaving you down a player and forcing you to cobra your way out of the situation

Yep. The only consumable I dont use regularly are ammo refills.

I know my stocks are in low double or single digits but my ammo ones are 200+.
