Paper route in elementary school
Two week work experience at Winchester Museums Service in the UK in the equivalent of 10th grade, bagging and labeling bronze coins and assisting archaeologists
Library aide in high school (I spent nine months or so putting magnetic strips into books so the magnetic strip detector things by the door would beep if you stole a book)
Flipped burgers and ran cashier at a burger joint
Set up computers, billed MediCal, and built reports on MS Access DBs for a speech language therapy private practice
UPS preload shift; unloaded for a few weeks, then preloaded, then split a belt + preload, then went on strike, then quit
Internship and then full-time when I graduated, doing technical documentation at a pre-IPO startup that folded Jan 2001
Technical training for a couple months and then technical writing for three years at AvantGo, a company that made stuff for mobile devices. Most famously a subscription service to get various newspapers and magazines on your device. Eventually we got bought by Sybase and merged with their subsidiary, iAnywhere. I worked on a consulting team after a while, did some various doc projects, it was fun.
Technical writing at a giant software company I'm still at, so I prefer not to name them, for the last 13 years. Mostly admin and developer doc for enterprise software products.

Back at AvantGo I had a Palm V, a Handspring something or other, and a couple other devices I've forgotten by now.

actually the thing at the checkout desk that is supposed to magnetize/demagnetize the strip only worked right like 80% of the time so there were billions of false positives. If you wanted to steal a book you could just add it to a stack you'd checked out, then go out the door, and they'd wave a happy goodby to you as the alarm beeped because the knew they'd just checked you out.

Or you could just walk out by going around the reader thing.

My friend and I had lots of fun sticking the magnetic strips to other students' coats and backpacks and shoes and stuff. Woe betide any student who went to the bathroom and left their stuff out while we were in there. "Library aide" was an actual class, you could get a grade in it, and it was during the normal school day so we'd get students in all the time. The old ladies who ran the library loved us, they were really sweet and fun to hang out with.

This is gonna sound ridiculously snobbish but gently caress it I'm from California and I'm gonna own it anyway:

You can make your own ranch. The recipe is not difficult. You'll need to buy buttermilk, but then the big improvement is you can use a healthier mayo than the garbage-tier that gets put into most commercial ranch. I usually buy the mayo made from olive oil, it tastes good and isn't as terrible for you. Anyway it's basically buttermilk, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, chives, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper.

Whenever I eat avocado of any kind, including the guacamole my chef friend spent all day putting together, I immediately get grossed out because of how much it reminds me of when you're really sick and you have a loogy in the back of your throat so gently caress avocado. I hope this ruins avocado for you and I tell this to everyone I can so we can end the scourge of California restaurants putting nasty rear end avocados on everything and eventually end the drought.

I mean, the Italians are pretty light on condiments in general in their own country when it comes to pizza, so just think of having it in a more genuine manner.
