A city that was to live by night after the wilderness had passed. A city that was to forge out of steel and blood-red neon its own peculiar wilderness.

But did he pay for his own plane ticket?

quote:

The Bears chairman was asked by new general manager Ryan Pace to consider the case of Ray McDonald, a defensive end with a recent history of charges of violence against women.

McCaskey said he reviewed the file and said no. He cited McDonald’s poor decision-making, and he was right. “No’’ seemed to be the way to go. Call it the safe option if you want, but it certainly seemed to be a smarter choice than many McDonald made in 2014.

McCaskey, however, eventually got to “yes.’’ The troubling part is how he got there.

First, the Bears were impressed that McDonald bought his own ticket to fly from San Francisco to Chicago to pitch the Bears on himself. The Bears might not realize how it looks, or more likely don’t care, but it plays into the reputation that the Bears in fact would be impressed whenever anybody spends his own money.

For the record, McDonald made $855,000 in salary alone last season. A first-class, round-trip seat on American Airlines bought Wednesday for travel on Wednesday, the worst possible time to purchase a ticket, would’ve cost less than $1,400.

It seems McDonald could’ve afforded to pop for his own transportation, and still had enough left over for bail.

Jokes aside The Bears actually did you know actually have a workout and view film and what not.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-mitch-trubisky-bears-chicago-hope-spt-0521-20170519-story.html

Though it does have this amazing quote for Fiz.

quote:

It's amazing, too, in the NFL's rumor-an-hour news cycle how little leaked, particularly after the Bears sneaked around with Trubisky in North Carolina, a state where the recognizable Fox spent the majority of his head coaching career.

Even walking through Terminal 2 at the Raleigh-Durham airport, Pace felt every glance, every finger pointing on the way to baggage claim.

Says Loggains: "People are shouting out, 'Coach Fox! We love you! You were the best coach the Panthers ever had!'"

Fox would grin and nudge his traveling companions.

"See!" he would say. "They love me here!"

Pace's amusement, however, was muted by his paranoia.

"Here I am thinking this is going to end up in a tweet or on Instagram," the GM says.

yeah, Reid said that he and his staff grilled the poo poo out of Mahomes and the reason they traded up that much to take him was because they were so impressed with how he did.

Just fix his loving mechanics.

An already old as hell Marino had another good one (just box score, I don't have a video :( ) between him and 2nd year Drew Bledsoe.

We need to suit Marino up again and have him go against any good young quarterback prospect.

That was the first game I ever really watched. We were having a family party and my cousins from Florida were watching that game and so I rooted against them for the Pats and the game was ridiculous. Just a ton of deep bomb touchdowns, no running game...

Hell, there were 4 50+ yard receiving TD's in that game

Here, have Marino to Fryar:
