A group of people should pose as a group of radical islamics on the internet but like radical to their beliefs so they become a target but since the group doesn't actually exist they wouldn't know where to bomb. So like start a facebook group and write it all in french so it appears that they all live in france.

Secular Humanist posted:Actual terrorist attacks are kind of just part of the problem though. I mean, people get exploded at ariana grande concerts for the same reason women in the middle east have to wear black trash bags everywhere. There are fundamental problems with mainstream islamic ideology that need to be intellectually terminated. Westerners can help by at least trying to support actual reforming muslims, who admittedly are not very visible due to the whole "constant threat of being decapitated" thing, instead of opportunistic theocrats like linda sarsour who exploit our good nature and dupe useful idiots into embracing the hijab out of "solidarity with women" (loving lol). Liberals have completely failed on this topic, which is now a feebly unhot take but is truer than ever. islamism is responding to failure of secular systems to accommodate islamist political participation. keep in mind that secular arab regimes have dished out extreme amounts of violence against non-violent islamist movements like the muslim brotherhood -- to the point of massacring them in egypt after the military coup.

FactsAreUseless posted:Unfortunately, I think the attitude that any Muslim could be a terrorist at any moment is extremely pervasive on the right, and that makes it hard to get support for reformist Islamic groups in the U.S. - or even abroad, see the example of Iran moving toward further openness (too slowly, but it's there) with the west. You can't have it both ways. Either you push all the Muslims out of society and decide that no Muslim can live in a western society (and there's plenty of that in this thread), or you want to work to fix problems and help people victimized by their own religion. For years liberals were pushing America towards becoming an atheist nation. Even today non-religion makes up the majority of the population. When the lefts support for Islam started getting mainstream they still kept the hatred for Christians around. It seems super hypocritical because the exact same view is good or bad depending on which group holds it. Meanwhile the United States was founded by Christians who practiced non-persecution. It is only because they allowed non-believers to live among them that atheism found a place to grow and prosper. You do not have to be islamic to dislike hijabs. Some people think any kind of ritual based on false beliefs is a waste of time especially when it can oppress women as a result. Women in islamic countries wear them because a crowd will stone them to death for not wearing it. They only leave the house with a male escort because they will be savagely raped if found alone. This terrorist attack has the express purpose of stopping women from gathering in public for unapproved activities like singing and dancing. Much like the sexual assaults in cologne they inspire fear in women. Then you see suggestions from the left that women bring a male escort with them when out in public...

Snatch Duster posted:Ad hominem valid form of argument in DnD now? You need to find better sources of information before you believe things. People who verify facts. Real experts, scholars, journalists. People who research poo poo. Not conservative radio hosts parroting what they read in a blog. P.S. The argument doesn't hold water anyway. There are billions of Muslims on the planet. If a majority of them, even a more significant minority, were radicalized, that would be reflected. Look at what Japan did with just a radicalized government and some propaganda, for instance. Yet there are none of these "majority radical" Muslim nations fighting to the death for Islam. Imagine if there were actually a billion people in the world willing to violently kill themselves in suicide attacks for their religion. Think about what that world is like. You can look at the world. You can look at Muslim families, communities, cities, and see that this isn't happening. And that's just the most obvious counter-argument. It doesn't even get into how much Shapiro's stats aren't backed up. spacetoaster posted:So libs really are "no! gently caress you dad!".
