Just a heads up, all Star Wars and City are 20% off at target. The AT-ST (which is awesome) is also on sale for $30.

No luck finding any of the new sets though.

Most toys don't hold any real value, especially if they were played with and don't have the original packaging. No matter how much they cost originally. So, I'm not surprised that people don't realize Lego is an exception.

Most of the Legos I see on CL are the opposite where the seller shoots for the moon on the price because someone told them Legos were valuable or whatever. Yes I would love to pay $250 for your 10lb tub of Legos that are actually mostly mega blox.

My Target had this same sale and Rathtar Escape (which I don't want), the stormtrooper buildable and nothing else new, annoyingly.

Will do.

Infected with Megablox and glue :bang:. Seems to be contained to only a few spots / sets but I'll have to be thorough when I rebuild. As far as megablox, I've been at this for a few years now, I can usually pick them out when sorting by color/weight/sound. The plastic is all wrong and stands out compared to Lego.

I was surprised as well. I saw it on Friday night and started texting her on Saturday around 10am. I think it was because it was under the Hudson Valley listing and it was outside the city. Seems like the kid had gotten older and they were cleaning house, mixed with some garage sale stuff. They did pull a lot of the minifigs though.

True, I see a lot of grossly over priced Lego on CL. Either the set hoarders or people who throw some random blocks into ziplocs and expect to get $15 / pound. My rule of thumb is to not spend more than $100 unless it is a really good deal, be patient and wait for a good deal to pop up. I've got this lot and another smaller one I picked up a few weeks ago that I still need to sort through. 'm currently sitting on over 100 sets, small to large, that I'm looking to sell. I've had some of them on CL but I'm going to setup a few tables at a local flea market this weekend to get back to a reasonable level of Lego in the house.

Got any classic or early 90s space you're selling? There's not a whole lot I'm really looking to buy, but I always give 'em a once-over.

Just managed to get my third Mega Core Magnetizer for less than $100, shipped, from the UK, which was a great deal considering they usually go for $150+ these days.

Yeah. Mega isn't quite great yet but it's not resting on its laurels. It makes a couple of new parts per set and has tons of interesting pieces that Lego fans have been asking for. It prints everything rather than using stickers in its adult fan sets and it's QC issues are improving. Lego meanwhile seems to be having more QC issues with every wave of sets and still makes stickers for £350 sets!

Don't sweat it too hard. If you miss the initial run it should be readily available within a couple of weeks. They will produce a bajillion of them.

I disagree. Not only is it popular subject matter, but I think they hit the price point out of the park. I think there will be plenty of people buying multiple sets as well. For display, for parts, and for speculation.

Don't sets usually go on sale overnight US time? I would maybe stay up late if I were trying to order it that way. I'm just planning on going to the store that day before lunch.

Revol posted:

I think I've seen a tiny handful of lego sets go up on amazon for preorder. Usually they show up on release date, or before release date being sold by 3rd parties who got their set in wide release in another region at a markup.

I very well may be wrong, but the last thing people were saying that about was the Beatles set. Either way even if it sells out it'll be a few weeks tops before it will be easy to grab. I actually haven't seen a single Lego set that proved hard to find in the 3 or so years since I got back into it (barring exclusives or stuff that was about to leave production)
