I was going to make much the same joke, but decided I'm being too pessimistic today.Mel Mudkiper posted:I am almost positive Howard Dean will never appear in a history book Awh man. I recall my US history book in HS had the Dukakis tank picture and a little writeup and everything in I think a section about media coverage in modern politics. US history books now should certainly cover the utterly poisonous effects the cable news channels have had on society.

Same, but it was in Rhode Island, and pretty fairly liberal (at least compared to my parents). Religion classes were of the Bill & Ted approach... I was really confused by stauch atheists until college when I got exposure to real American religion. My AP World history teacher was a socialist, and we talked a lot about how a whole bunch of those guys joined various brotherhoods in the 50's and 60's for pretty obvious reasons.

Kalli posted:Going down as the worst president of all time, is still going to end up with more prestige for him then he had before. He'll have to build it himself. Nixon's was built by private donors, and wasn't an official part of the system until 2007. When Nixon decided he could delete the tapes after his presidency, congress stepped in and said "uh no those are ours thanks." That's why now all the nixon library does is annually release more tapes of nixon bitching about the jews.

Does KFC make you more or less constipated? That should give you the answer. I haven't had KFC in years so I have no idea. Also, the stress of the job makes presidents age twice as fast. Just look at pictures of GWB and Obama before and after office. Combine that with Trump already being old and showing signs of cognitive distress, well...

Optionally, add chili powder, paprika, onion, and some variety of chile pepper. 3. Finish cooking it. OK, now you have Mexican food. It's good. Eat it.

Speaking of food. A lot of American fast food chains are expanding to Europe in a pretty aggressive way. In the Netherlands, where I live, we'll get a Pizza Hut, TGI Friday's, Five Guys, Taco Bell and Dunkin' Donuts in the next 6 months. I've never been to any of those places. What's the best one? Or the least worst?

Five Guys - Decent burgers cooked to order and a step above the McDonalds/Wendys/Burger King style of burger. Has giant bags of peanuts everywhere, and uses peanut oil for their fries which means I can never walk into one, good burgers though. TGI Fridays - Casual dining place, that focuses on that style of hanging poo poo all over the walls while serving you mostly microwaved sides to go with mediocre entrees. You can do better just about anywhere, but if you've got kids or are drunk already, it works. Dunkin Donuts - Mediocre coffee and donuts. Fills a wide niche of waking you up and putting a ball of sugar and fat in your stomach when you're hung over and going to work. Taco Bell - It's McDonalds but tacos. Pizza Hut - Same quality as every local greasy pizza joint, but they mostly focus on deep dish pizzas. If you have Dominos or Papa Johns, same thing.

Taco Bell is okay, as long as you have low expectations. Dunkin' Donuts is basically the same as Taco Bell. TGI Friday's is TRASH and Pizza Hut is too.

Be forewarned that Pizza Hut's pizza is *really* greasy compared to it's competitors. It's less pizza, and more of a greasy, doughy circle with tiny toppings on it.

That reminds me that I ate at a Fairwood while I was in HK, and it was probably the worst meal I had on that trip, but as far as chain fast food goes, it was pretty ok. Weird mix of western fast food and chinese dishes. Had a rice pot with various meats on it. Everything's in HK dollars, so divide by 8.
