I'm not going to put off CS3 if Zero/Ao are not out yet, that's crazy talk. So far the Crossbell stuff in CS3 has been "hey here are some JRPG from another couple of games" and I'm willing to just roll with it. I want to see the conclusion to Rean's story! No matter what, that's going to be the main purpose of a third Cold Steel game. At the same time if Xseed decided to delay CS3 a little bit to try to churn out Zero/Ao I wouldn't be upset, either.

Time to play CS1 with max bonding and feel even worse about how poo poo went down, even if anything else would have felt unsatisfying.

I was thinking about this and I imagined a scenario where CS3 did come out after a hypothetical Ao localization, but mostly so a PC port could be worked on and released with the PS4 version simultaneously. The only thing with that is that I can imagine some PS4 only folks would throw a shitfit over being delayed so this hypothetical PC port could be made. I dunno. It's kind of a mess.

Ys VIII for PS4 unlocked this afternoon (Japanese PSN preorder) and I'm a few hours in. Overall, I think it's a good port. It definitely looks a bit higher than 1080 on PS4 Pro and it's mostly 60fps with the odd dip here and there compared to a rather inconsistent 30 on Vita (often as the resolution went down). The upshot of this is that I'm finding it no more difficult on Hard than I did playing originally on Easy as the timing windows for flash moves and guards feel so much wider. It's the kind of game which makes you feel like a great player and then brings you down to size as you get ambushed and lose a character super quickly. The graphics aren't fantastic but they are crisp and they've definitely done work to the character models - the Pro was really cranking up the fans during the cutscenes much more than while playing. I haven't seen any of the new bits yet, but you don't get to play as Dana until a bit into the game anyway.

Sen no Kiseki 3 preorder is now available on Japan PSN for 7,200 yen and includes a theme, mini soundtrack and an outfit for Rean which is his clothing from the second game. After the recent excesses of Square Enix (Dragon Quest 11 is 9,698 yen and FF15 wasn't much less) that sounds pretty reasonable! For once it's actually less than the current price on Amazon.

She has an area impede. And her craft that pushes targets to the opposite end of the arena is probably pretty good for certain scary bosses against which I used dark matter ex to achieve the same result. I don't think she's really much worse than Estelle or Ries.
