I must have missed this episode of Monster Factory. Is it Fallout 4 with mods?

wait, in the new Hitman, is there really only one story mission per episode? i know the appeal of the game is that you can do each mission in a stupidly large number of ways, but for those of us that are stupid and don't like wandering around for 2 hours memorizing someone's path and then groundhog day-ing that into some elaborate rube goldberg machine? not sad i bought it or anything, just legit curious because i thought there was a lot more going on here e: well, the insane loading times do make me not want to ever try anything cool because as much as i enjoy the game giving me enough time to pack an entire bowl and smoke half of it while i load my save from 30 seconds ago, i can only smoke so much weed

Yeah, there's one story mission per map, but there's also the escalations and all the community made missions if you don't like going through and doing all the challenges for each map.

Each map has one main story assassination mission, but each also has like a dozen escalation missions, each of which has multiple completion tiers

Oh that's what Escalations are. OK, that's fine then. Seriously though, these loading times are the worst.

It feels really good, graphics are okay, combat system is fleshed out and well realized. They pretty much failed to make the game actually compelling or interesting or not have the back half really show the limits of their time in terms of level design or keeping up enemy variety. Cool. Thanks!

OK after playing more Vanquish and watching a stream of it, I think I'm starting to grasp it. Hiding behind cover to cool down now feels like a punishment for not being awesome enough so I think that means I'm on my way

It doesn't feel like early access, this could be a complete game by itself content-wise. The controls in particular are great, it is smooth and it feels easy to maneuver during the hectic fights.

Wild Arms 2 owns. I think this game is cooler than 1 even though I like the aesthetic of 1 more. But the chunky 3D means more involved puzzle/dungeon design so its a worthwhile tradeoff.

i think wild arms 2 looks better than 1, mainly because all the characters in wild arms 1 were based on the same weird-looking template that gets really boring to look at by the end, while wild arms 2's character sprites are a lot more detailed, diverse and expressive

the 3d stuff in wild arms 1 is epic because it's literally only there cause some guy at sony was like "what the gently caress? you trying to make a 2d game here??" and the developers just did not have the resources to make 3d that looked good so they just gave up and slapped poo poo together

Tbf to Sony reviewers at the time would mark games down just for not being in 3D, in much the same way that multiplayer would get shoehorned into games ten years later for the same reason.

wild arms 2 with more detailed 2d environments instead of 3d ones would be pretty badass i wish wild arms 2's translation was as good as the later games cause for all the game's style, the dialog gets kind of grating after a long time just for how stiff it is. some of the villains' dialog is kind of amazing for how garbled it is in a way that completely changes the way he comes off but there are a lot of scenes that just get choked dry The Colonel fucked around with this message at 07:06 on May 26, 2017 |
