TVIV goons really are pretty bad about that poo poo. Like guys you can just say "hey you missed that bit in the episode where" rather than "oh my god how are you so bad" Most shows I watch, I'm doing something else at the same time. So sometimes I miss a thing, or I forget it. Big whoop. (But American Gods has my full attention when its on )

There's a difference between paying attention and having different readings. Even if they aren't paying attention like i couldn't at the time, the thread wouldn't be much if everyone was just high fiving about how kick rear end the show rather than asking questions and discussing it

I watch TV like old people gently caress. It's already a miracle when I can stay awake and hard the whole way through.

She lost it when fighting the Tech Gods minions, giving us the greatest groin shot in TV history. Edit: I'll never get tired of that gif. mallratcal fucked around with this message at 00:37 on May 25, 2017 |

To be fair I kind of get irritated when people don't pay attention to what they're watching and then tell it back to you wrong in real life. I wasn't terribly upset despite the tone, I just think it's amazing that text is so easily misconstrued and mis-remembered. Not subtext, the plot if you typed it out. Wasn't trying to chase anyone out, though I know a couple of you cheeky fuckers cruise for that just to encourage it and stoke the fire. Lots of Fuller regs coming around too, it's like watching Guardians and seeing guys from indie b movie poo poo along with high level talent.

Entropic posted:It's been ages since I read the book, but Audrey barely showed up at all, she was just mentioned in passing, right? I also haven't read it in ages but I remember it the same way. I think in the book she just goes straight from the grave to the motel room where she waits for Shadow, and we don't get any backstory for her at all. She explains to Shadow the thing about the bright light leading her to him (which we see in the show), otherwise I think it just glosses over how she actually got there. And there's never any interaction between Laura and Anubis, I seemed to remember her even saying that all she remembers about being dead was total blackness and nothingness.

Entropic posted:It's been ages since I read the book, but Audrey barely showed up at all, she was just mentioned in passing, right? Audrey plays a significant, albeit limited role much later in the book. It's highly unlikely to happen this season so I won't expand, however if you ask in the spoiler thread I'm sure someone will answer.
