I just deleted my A17 game in a rage. I had four of my six dudes get eye injuries while killing beavers. The eye injuries caused enough pain to permanently keep them in shock unless they were stoned. Once the smoke leaf tolerance built up the only way to keep them awake was by doing nothing else but smoking. I wish there was an option to just remove the scarred eyes :/

It's specifically EPOE Hardcore that allows you to use Glitterworld mess to fix scars, which is such a good idea that I honestly feel it should be in the base game.

I think that's confirmation bias left over from before food poisoning was well tested. I think all that matters is cooking skill and room cleanliness, so the cross contamination is if your cooking station is in a room filled with raw meat because I think that brings the cleanliness down.

Is there any way to make colonists haul the poo poo that they harvest/mine? I hate it when I have some guy out harvesting agave or steel or whatever and they just leave it all over the ground, so someone else has to walk all the way out there and grab it all

Otherwise the only way is to micromanage your pawns as they're doing stuff and that'd be a huge pain very quickly. Gonna be playing me some A17 real soon and I'm hype. You'd have to prioritize hauling over mining but that's not efficient either because they can carry more than they can mine at once so they'll leave with 35 at a time and it'll take forever.

It can be a pain in the rear end in the early game though when you don't have enough pawns to fill that role.

zedprime posted:Which is simply handled in game as the cleanliness stat. Good cook, enough janitors, and keeping junk out of the kitchen and you won't see food poisoning regardless of traffic. There's set ups to avoid the foot traffic I guess but you end up wanting janitor coverage everywhere because there isn't a room that doesn't benefit from being clean just because of beauty. But I can see it because if you let kitchen cleanliness slip once you can end up in cleanliness debt because of puke sweeping and you get an outbreak because your kitchen inevitably ends up pukey if it ended up dirty from foot traffic to begin with and you enter a food poisoning disaster spiral until you get extra janitors.

Wolves are the best, since they don't eat the field vegetables and will stick to kibble, but dogs and pigs are reasonable too. You can also use bears but they are slow to breed and eat a lot of food.

Does the ground-penetrating scanner need to be online while deep-drilling? Or is it required only to see where the underground ores are? It uses a lot of power and I want to keep it turned off while not in use.
