JazzFlight posted:Ehhh, with the way this show deals with supernatural elements, it's easy enough to recast but give it a rational explanation like the Lodge's magic changed his body. Surely, anything less than a loving brain tree would be pretty disappointing, though. Tim Roth is alright, but he doesn't quite look enough like a rotten potato.

Cromulent posted:I interpreted the vomiting as a special case situation, not something that ordinarily happens (if you can use that term) with lodge transport. Like it was a side effect of both Coopers being out of the lodge. I think it was a side effect of doppelcooper resisting being pulled back. I always thought that garmonbozia was the "food" or "fuel" for the black lodge. The first thing BOB does after killing Laura is head straight back to the Lodge where the Arm demands and devours the garmonbozia collected in Leland. I think Mike / the Arm's motivation for pulling doppelcooper back in is primarily to collect garmonbozia, and doppelcoop (and/or BOB?) wants to keep it for himself. It also makes sense that he hid some (fake?) garmonbozia in Dougie to try and cover his tracks, but things didn't go quite as planned. Also, when Mike is yelling at Leland/BOB from his car in FWWM, the first thing he says is "you stole the corn, I had it canned above the store". I think BOB engineered events specifically so he could inhabit Cooper (or dopplecooper), go on the run from the Lodge and hoard all that sweet garmonbozia for himself. I also think that this event has always happened and always will happen, and the Lodge exists outside of normal time, which is why when Jeffries first meets Coop he points right at him and says "who do you think this is, there?"

That was "Red." He was played by Balthazar Getty. Nothing else is known.

I think it would be kinda jarring to see a recast Ontkean banter or interact in general with Cooper the actors had a really unique chemistry. One of the reasons the recast worked with Donna in FWWM was because we never really see Laura/Donna hang out, chat or do poo poo together in the show except for that one James video.

Kyle MacLachlan's twitter seems so pleasant. He just gives a nice response when somebody tells him something. It's just like the digital version of a warm smile and firm handshake.

If anyone likes the weirdness and mystery of Twin Peaks but hates how slow and boring it is, along with the creator jerking himself off with weird things that mean nothing just to appear "out there" or whatever, give Legion a try. It's just as weird but has a story and isn't filmed with 50% silence/staring every episode.

Confession: He tweets "Happy Birthday ____!" with a bunch of coffee and donut icons and other cute stuff when you ask him to shout out someone on their birthday. I hate "being a fan" and asking celebrities for autographs or whatever but I've watched Twin Peaks a billion times with my partner and got Twitter for the sole purpose of surprising her with a MacLachlan/Agent Cooper shout-out. It really is like the digital version of a smile/handshake, I think I literally blushed when he responded within an hour!

Not sure why you're posting in the Twin Peaks thread to tell Twin Peaks fans to watch another show because it's more palatable to a general audience. That's like telling someone who's really into Igor Stravinsky to stop listening to Le Sacre du Printemps and check out Die Zauberflöte.

It is deliberately, punishingly tedious – but that's why Twin Peaks is so beguiling https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2017/may/22/twin-peaks-david-lynch-deliberately-punishingly-tedious-beguiling So at least it's meant to be that way and I'm not wrong, I'll stop posting here just wanted to show people an alternative. Like those tired of Walking Dead should watch Z Nation.

With the original series, I've always read that Lynch never wanted to reveal the killer. But recently, I've been reading he never wanted to reveal the killer until the last episode. Anyone know which?

I don't think The Guardian can read David Lynch or Mark Frost's minds. Who knows what the hell this show is SUPPOSED to be, let's stick to what it actually IS. drat good TV.

At least tell me who the stitched eyed Asian in the beginning of episode 3 was. Cause that was almost 20 minutes of nothing and bored me to tears, so if she means something to the older episodes I'd understand.
