Yeah. I can't imagine that the SNP wouldn't demand a second Scottish referendum as a price of coalition. There's no way that Labour can afford to go for that. Much better to call their bluff and say, "Vote for us on a confidence and supply basis or be the party that let the Conservatives in". Though, given the Tory resurgence in Scotland, maybe that's not the ultimatum it once would have been.

At this point, if the polls are even close to accurate, even a Tory victory is gonna be pretty loving embarrassing for May given the high expectations that were set at the start of the race.

Yeah I don't think Labour can win but my most optimistic scenario right now is a hung parliament with the tories as the largest party which would still be hilariously embarrassing for May.

With their 8 MPs? Nah, they're going to be marginal whatever happens. It's going to be Tory majority/minority government or an SNP/Labour coalition.

Baloogan posted:people don't like voting, why bother the entire country with an early election? Since the polls looked like amazingly good for the Conservatives vs Labour (keeping in mind the conservative government has been a disaster for nearly everyone, even without Brexit) she decided to hold an election after triggering Article 50 which also very coincidentally covered the period in which a number of Tory MPs under investigation for electoral fraud might have had to have by-elections.
