Also, good coordination between counselors with radios is a game-changer. I found the phone and another guy found the fuse, and we coordinated to meet up and call the cops while I covered him with a flare gun. He ended up dying after we tried fixing up the boat and Jason suddenly climbed onto the dock (I shot him with a flare gun but he didn't escape), but I and one or two others just barely ran to the cops. Had we not made the phone call, I doubt any of us would have survived. Though even coordination can't help lovely counselors. Everyone was at the police spot waiting for the countdown to end except one loud and annoying guy on the mic, who began begging me for help when I returned as Tommy Jarvis. I met him face-to-face on the road as Jason jogged after him, but instead of moving he just stopped and tried to hit Jason while standing in my path. He ended up getting whacked and killed, and I wasted my shotgun shell on knocking Jason down. I ran out of stamina just short of the police and died trying to help the guy.

Highlight of that match was still Lastdancer getting caught inside the huge house and breaking free from my grip seconds away from the toilet. He then came back when I recovered because he considered it too cruel to deny someone that kill. Pictured: a true saint.

So what are good things to do when trying to work out where to go or what to do on the maps as a counsellor? Should I just stick to the buildings and try to find useful stuff?

Danger - Octopus! posted:So what are good things to do when trying to work out where to go or what to do on the maps as a counsellor? Should I just stick to the buildings and try to find useful stuff? Depends on a lot of things. Where you spawn, who you are, where other people are. Generally be on the look out for a walkie talkie, a map, and any important items. Be opportunistic as gently caress if you can- the boat is super easy to fix up on your own or, if you just have another person. It's way easier to get fixed than any of the other exits. But if you're not in a group and you're not able to contact people, it might be best to just skulk around and find whatever weapons and defensive items you can before finding others. If you don't want to just stake out on your own

Order of usefulness: Items: Pocket Knife Map Radio Firecrackers Health Weapons: Bat Shotgun Flare Gun Machete Axe Pipe Wrench Pot Stick Call Tommy Jarvis: Find house with huge red and white antenna outside Use desktop radio inside (looks like them old cop radios with lots of red and green lights) Call the Police: Fuse (in drawers) Fix Fuse Box (red blinking light outside a house near fuse) Phone (in house with fuse box) Boat Escape: Propeller (white small triple fan blade sitting out in the open in a house) Gas (red rectangle can sitting in open in a house) Drive to two red buoys Car Escape: Battery (black and yellow car battery sitting in the open in a house) Gas Keys (in drawers) Don't drive into trees like a drat dingus What to do: Stay quiet, barricade doors, don't stay in houses too long, have your headset on to coordinate with others, if you find keys leave them by the car, if you have vehicle parts take them to the vehicle What not to do: Yell with Jason nearby, kill your fellow campers, panic What to never do: Not be a douche when playing as Chad. In fact, run people over, die with the keys on you, and miss your flare / gun shots As Jason: be silent. A good Jason always taunts his prey or blasts 80's music over team chat. Also, dead people can watch. So mix up your kills. Don't just choke. Choke is boring. As Tommy: escape. Your job is to get the other campers out. Don't return as Tommy and then bug out. Also for tips, stick to walking and jogging if you don't have a specific reason to be in a hurry. Sprinting really drains your stamina and makes you appear on Jason's screen, and a lot of newbies sprint everywhere because they're impatient and used to twitch shooters and it's really easy for Jason to find them.

Saint Freak posted:We had one last night that got 0. I think the last 5-10 minutes of the match was me ambling the entire length of the map as Deb to get to the cops. To be fair to the Jason, I spawned right next to the phone and the fuse was in the same cabin. I also enjoyed the next match. Start out by the big lodge and Jason warps over and starts chasing me. I proceed to spend the majority of the round running from Jason, while he occasionally breaks away to terrorizes some counselors in a nearby cabin. Just as I hit the road late in the match I see Chicken heart and someone else drive up in the blue car, I hop in and we speed off to the exit. That was a pretty tense round and I'm learning that as Jason I shouldn't be chasing one counselor around when their is still 6 others who are getting escapes ready.

Three times you should sprint: 1. Juking a shift+grab 2. If Jason is on you AND there is a cabin you can reach with your stamina. 3. You're near the cops, a working car or a boat. Otherwise you're better off jogging, even when chased. You'll stay out of his reach and have stamina left for the coming shift+grab. This changes if you're a monster who plays Vanessa. Then you should always sprint and make sure your rest breaks are near other players that'll suffer the consequences of your loud rear end.

Hot tips : If you leave the match with an item / get murdered in the water with an item, said item will wash up somewhere on the shore. (to stop griefers from leaving with key items, boning the rest of the team). If you can't find a stealthy character as Jason, she's probably hidden somewhere. Go around blowing all the generators. if she's inside a cabin when the power goes out, you'll either hear her OR her fear will go high enough to show her on Sense. (If she's hiding outside in a tent, her fear is slowly building up and you'll find her eventually).

I got knocked off the map by Tommy in a Royal Rumble. Hell is fighting four people with weapons around a fixed car. They still died over time, thanks to invincibility frames and button mashing. Another survivor managed to get the car knocked around so hard it jumped a fence and drove around me. I ran out of charge by then and it escaped.

Second Jason match, made it 8/8 (killing Tommy Jarvis when he spawned in as well). I only reused a single kill, which was punching the last person's head off. Otherwise I used the chest punch, window throw, stomping their face into the wall, regular axe attacks, eye gouge, and even got a water kill when someone jumped off the dock in a desperate attempt to avoid me. Of course I immediately got accused of being cheap for mastering the shift-grab so fast.

What does the walkie do and how do I use it? So last night I somehow got grabbed by a Jason about a minute and a half into the round. He said, "You know what? It's early so I'll spare you. Go ahead and break free." I did and he said, "see ya" and warped away. The most merciful Jason. He did end up killing me five minutes later. In the next round the same guy ended up being Tommy. I was trying to find my way to the police when the guy found me and said, "I came back for you! The police are this way! Let's go!" As we were heading to the police he repeatedly yelled, "NO MAN LEFT BEHIND!" Jason finally found us right at the exit so the guy covered me while I escaped. I have to salute that guy, whoever he is. I got a perfect round as Jason as well. It's so satisfying to leave no survivors. I also enjoy spectating and seeing bad Jasons hacking doors down with under five minutes to go rather than just instantly kicking them in. The last five minutes as Jason are the most fun, kicking doors in and crashing through walls like the Kool-Aid Man.

Walkies make it easier for Jason to home in on you and to talk to anyone who has one, which alerts Jason to them if they talk back.

In general, if you are using the mic to do anything beyond scream slurs, you're a Good Mic Person and you should continue doing what you're doing. Things I have done on the mic as Jason: - WWE commentator (with a Jason using Backbreaker, Body Slam, Heart Punch, and Bear Hug) - Classical singer (italian arias) - Budget Joker (lots of crazed laughing and crowing at survivors with bad ideas - at one point a Kenny and a Tiffany said "we can fight him" and I melted down laughing and saying "yes, please. please fight me." They took the hint and loving scattered.) Things I have done on the mic as survivor: - Star Wolf (trolling Jason around with bullshit like 'you're good -- but i'm BETTER') - That one Marine who constantly loses his poo poo in Aliens ("THIS IS MY LAST TRANSMISSION OH GOD HE'S COMING IN I---" cut off, juke Jason because he just stepped in a bear trap, get back on voice and continue panicking) - Budget Borat (dude who thinks this is the funnest amusement park ride ever and does not seem to understand that people are dying) I get laughs pretty much every game and it's half of the reason I keep playing this game so much.
