He basically mentioned Fernando and what a nice guy he'd been about IndyCars and how other F1 drivers had been less than kind about it. He then proceeded to single out - and I'm paraphrasing - the driver who came second last year in a two car race.

The way he worded it was so elegant to not be a clumsy call out, but a genuinely funny way of mocking Hamilton for losing to Rosberg.

I think he made a comment recently about how he wasn't allowed to be himself growing up and the McLaren/Ron grooming from such a young age took its toll on him in a big way. That last part is my own conclusion based off what he said lol

The beginning of the end for Ron was Alonso joining in 2007 and showing up with a new haircut that clearly was not his idea.

This is what I don't get, like does Gene really think without a change in prize money he's gonna be able to even hope to compete with the top 3 teams? I can't shake the feeling he got leaned on by Ferrari to go be their pet midpack team and argue for Ferrari to continue making way more than the rest of the grid regardless of performance.

drat, I was going to refute this, but it turns out my assessment of Lewis Hamilton's style was unfounded. He just dresses like a rich twat, not like a rich twat who's friends with Alexander McQueen's haus designers or whatever.

I did find this picture of Mika Hakkinen making the exact face I make while thinking about what Lewis Hamilton does when he's not racing:

EDIT: I'm not digging back thru the whole 2000 posts I missed, but did anyone else notice that Hamilton's Nicky Hayden tribute sticker was upside down? I can't tell if his sticker guy hosed up, or if it's on purpose.

Ironically Nicky said he took that number from his dad and his dad used that number so you could tell whose bike it was even if it was upside down because his dad crashed a lot.

Oh yeah, I know the story behind the number :) I'm just wondering if it was intentional (because it would be sorta cool if intentional, especially with the, "upside down American flag equals distress signal," imagery).

But I'm guessing it's not intentional, since like you said, Earl intended it to be read the same way upside-down as rightside-up. Easy mistake to make if you're the guy slapping last-minute stickers on your racer's lid.

Vettel was on his team and his big contribution was to get nutmegged by Ale Del Piero.
