Probably the best summation of Vampire I've ever heard. It's kinky because it's "dark and mysterious" and apparently it gets big girls hot? Further more.. people bring up the escapist letter because not only was it apparently slowly smashed out by a guy who has to look at his keyboard before he types, it's funny as gently caress that the CEO of a multi-million dollar company would write something as insane as that

They were first created to be used for sprays, bloodstains or bullet holes but they're more generally handy because they basically allow you to slap a texture on a mesh without needing texture coordinates or specific geometry for it. The so-called "3d decals" are just taking that idea and extending it not just to color, but normal map and material properties. This helps with representing small scale details like rivets without wasting polygons. That is really loving neat. Always fascinating to learn the new poo poo they come up with to bring out detail without just throwing more polys at it.

Now having someone powerful in a respected position make silly rants online is passe.

I'd have traded that otter for them. They were sort of emo and lost but awkward kinds. Too weird for the emo life with their style, too normal to be fully vested. I think they just all wanted to be lorded over by the pasty dude. The rest of the events are probably not for the Star Citizen thread!

When it comes to release dates more than a year out I tend to try to quell my enthusiasm as much as I can, and just try to remember to check up on it every once in a while. This was my disposition when it came to Star Citizen. After reading the OP, I'm pretty drat glad I never drank the koolaid. Still, it's a drat shame, but I guess some people just don't realize that not all great ideas are meant to work, and a truly great leader is one who can compromise between reason and ambition. The public elects a visionary to fight in an arena of bureaucrats because knowing what bureaucrats do is a bureaucrat's job, and regular occupied members of society don't have time to understand the dynamics of why this vision hasn't been acted on before. An idea is not what puts dinner on the table, a plan alone won't boil your potatoes. But enough of that. It's making me really start to appreciate the Infinity project and all of its history until this point. There was a lot of hype garnered for it back in 2007-8 when the first demos were released, but the engine's massive code base remained largely owned by the one mastermind, and as a result the project still chugs along today with an actual prospect of getting released this decade, with a framework built for potential. When it releases, it releases... But at least I'm confident it will.

no_recall posted:What ever happened to procedural birds? For months after the game releases something that's called beta (or ideally the SQ42 prelude that they can't sell as pre-alpha) Citizens will be starting sentences with "whatever happened to... " puzzled about the piece of melted garbage that they will receive. It's going to be depressing, but I'm sort of looking forward to it. Fear not Citizens! CIG's pre-alpha looks better than all of AAA games, so your money is well placed.

They are really doubling down on dreams lately, citizens don't even wait for CR to come and dream up something for them. Sure I gave this old hack 15000$ but the game I imagined and played for 1000 hours in my head was totally worth it.
