Is there anything particularly anti-science about the Greens bar them not liking nuclear? Are they anti-vaccers or something? That'd be disappointing, but I really do think everyone in the thread is going overboard in their support for nuclear energy.

They probably do attract a proportion of anti-vax nuts though. I do support nuclear energy personally but if they were in a place to actually win seats I could be convinced to overlook that, we're just ready to be more particular about them because well lol as if the Greens are going to win more than one or two seats.

Nothing wrong with the scientific method. I just had a vision of solaris : on the surface of the ocean, there was a boy, blue eyes, silvery hair, but then I noticed something terribly wrong; the boy was moving with the ocean, but also moving by itself, & it was 15 foot tall. that boy was Corbyn. Actually, on the subject of Tarkovski's "Solaris" : the two other scientists remaining on the station when Kris arrives, if we swapped them out with politicians, who would be their "Guests"? staberind fucked around with this message at 07:31 on Jun 1, 2017 |

One big advantage of testing with smaller animals is that they breed fast, don't take up much space and are relatively cheap once your breeding line is established. Humans take too long to reach maturity (and human testing is anyway a massive, massive pain in the arse thanks to people generally being unwilling to live at the laboratory and having to be treated with dignity, rights etc.).

Yeah the nuclear stuff really winds me up. I think they've improved (I'd vote for them if I could, <3 harvie), but there's a reason David Icke did so well back in the day- however given that austerity became the accepted standard economic template it seems unfair to single them out as a party that lacks intellectual rigour.
