Is there any more debates on the slate before election day? My nan seems to be finally coming around on Corbyn after years as a uncritical Tory tribalist and it seems his TV appearences are what is doing the job.

OrthoTrot posted:I think you forget what a massive deal they made out of tuition fees in the 2010 election. Their pledge was almost comically overblown. Yeah but I think the dynamics of a party on the rise making promises v a party in decline clinging on for dear life post voter flight are different dynamics and I doubt the lib dem membership would endorse a coalition agreement again with the taste of ashes relatively fresh in their mouths. I mean a confidence pact to support the Tories if government formation drags on for weeks upon weeks and another election is on the brink of happening could be foreseeable (to forestall paniced voter drift to the Tories for "stability" and to maximise any advantage before it evaporated) - but I think they'll want to be in a position to maintain their Brexit position to remain electorally viable. Of course being the party that has the power to collapse government and eventually following through on it could benefit you - though last time the libs did that they got punished for it

So, I've just stumbled across this article about micro-political ads on social media and the impact they can have with relatively small sums of money. I've been donating direct to the Labour party, but wouldn't be above spending some money on this. Could anyone recommend a relatively slick and simple website containing 'why you shouldn't vote Tory ' that it would be useful to direct people to if they click? I don't really have the time to do something myself and I'm guessing there'll be some out there. Top response to a google is amusingly a Telegraph article about why I should vote Tory, then there's a Mirror list of nasty policies, then just a bunch of forums posts, so nothing that looks particularly professional.

Macarius Wrench posted:Politics is just people arguing about why they deserve more money to do less. This is a parody of a South Park quote, it's an utterly lazy refusal to think. It's got no place... anywhere, but especially not in a subforum called Debate & Discussion, especially not in this thread, and double-especially not when there's an election going on where one side is led by Jeremy Corbyn. Since that's the kind of opinion you think it's OK to poo poo out unprompted you're probably not going to be missed if you gently caress off right away. Which, by the way, you should, cause you're a disgusting piece of poo poo whose continued usage of oxygen is a sad reflection on us all. gently caress off and stay hosed off.
