inflammable means something is capable of being inflamed (in the older meaning of set on fire). Similar to enraged, enbittered, enfeebled, embossed, etc.

I feel like there was some discussion how back in the day the confusion over flammable, inflammable, non-flammable caused industries to just only use any variation of flammable to mean "yeah it'll burn" and fire-resistant or fire retardant for "it won't burn as easy".
