He thinks that any result where the Conservatives are still in government means Corbyn should resign. even if Labour get a bigger share of the vote than they got in 2005. I've never seen Pissflaps directly confirm/deny that he sees a Conservative win but an increase in Labour seats as something that should result in Corbyn's resignation - I want to hear it from the horse's mouth. (Also, vote share is irrelevant tbh).

The bottom seems to have really fallen out of May's personal popularity. You didn't have to watch the debate or even read any analysis of it to get the main story: the woman who spent all campaign calling herself strong chickened out of it. I imagine there's still some more Labour swing due on that.

Pissflaps posted:That's not going to happen but, yes. It's highly unlikely, but at this stage I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility. Why do you think he should resign in that scenario, if he has increased the number of seats for Labour since 2015 and 2010 under Milliband? I know you won't be drawn on "who should replace him" - but do you want to see Labour drawn back towards the more centrist ideology such as that under Milliband and before, or stay within Corbyn's broad ideology but under different leadership?

I imagine there's still some more Labour swing due on that. I think it's big among the politically aware, but there are still masses of inertia of people less engaged. Tons of people vote without really being interested in the political process.

Ewan posted:It's highly unlikely, but at this stage I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility. Because he will have failed to deliver a labour government. Edit: didn't see the second part, Corbyn's manifesto is a lot more centrist than I expected. Somebody more capable with less baggage could do better with it. I was thinking more along the lines of the fact that there's a long and justified association of establishment politicians to institutional racism and some of the more unconventional elements of Corbyn's way of doing things has helped counteract that But yes I appreciate that I might as well have gone "lol hippity hoppors" for how I phrased that
