Regarding the ballot numbers: these are printed on the reverse of the ballot, so you'd have to work at it to have them appear in the photo.

It's not illegal to take selfies or pictures of your voting card. There's only two illegal things you can do, taking a photo of the back of the voting card (Which has the unique number on it) or taking a photo of someone else filling out a voting card (And why the hell would you do that?) It's perfectly legal to take photos but not recommended because as this threads shown a lot of people think it's super illegal and will get real weird about it.

At least we'll all have the satisfaction of one pollster being utterly humiliated on June 9th. EDIT: Kinda weird that ComRes also has quite different satisfaction ratings than Ipsos Mori. Are they just reaching very different sections of the population?

GaussianCopula posted:How did it feel when pollsters were utterly humiliated in 2015 or 2016? they weren't in 2016. They called Brexit fairly accurately and people just ignored what the polls were saying. There was a lot of "things always slide back to the status quo" dispatch_async posted:https://twitter.com/britainelects/status/871049102473220102 ComRes haven't published their turnout predictions like YouGov have but they're basing it on historical data, so they're probably estimating a lower young voter turn out than we might actually get if you're looking for a silver lining. They're also getting a massive change from their raw data because they're allocating don't knows to whichever party's leader the respondent said would make the best Prime Minister which would have got them the correct result in 2015 apparently if you're looking for a reason to not get your hopes up and follow the ComRes poll. I do think the difference between the perception of Cameron and Miliband's competence was probably wider than that of Corbyn and May though.

it was paddy after all I think that holds the point that the polls were suggesting it was a close race for the hung parliament plurality, and then the tories somehow found a majority pretty sure I remember many in the thread pointing out that tory complacency was going to do for them right there and then, too. A better call than the polsters made.

Have the Tories polled below 43% in any poll yet? My bet is that there is a little bit more tightening to come in the last few days from the the polls showing the biggest lead, with an 8% lead being the actual result on the day.
