Like, Watson was never the little bitch in the books that he always is in all the film stuff. Most of the time you forgot he was even a character, he was more like a journalist. Getting loving shot at when poo poo went down and never getting congratulated for it, etc. Yes which is why Jude Law Watson is one of the better incarnations of the Watson character

Getting loving shot at when poo poo went down and never getting congratulated for it, etc. Yes, that always annoyed me: in the Rathbone films, he was a silly old duffer, but in the books, he was quite the man: Not only was he an army veteran, but he was a good doctor and built up a very successful practice and Holmes mentions his respect for his medical skills on more than one occasion. And a ladies man: not only did he marry a hottie, but Holmes refers to his skills with the ladies 'drat Watson, you da pussyhound and them bitches be wet when dey see you' Finally, dude was stacked: 'strongly-built man—square jaw, thick neck, moustache' and he wasn't afraid to throw down with a streetfighter

I forget which radio adaption it was, but at the start Watson is describing his evening the night before where he took a dancer home and they picked up a bottle of champagne, but it turned out she lived with her mother, who was awake, and he ended up hanging out with the mother all night sulkily drinking champagne and talking about Holmes lol

Also wtf is this poo poo: In July 2008 it was reported that Sacha Baron Cohen would play Holmes and Will Ferrell would play Dr. Watson, in a comedic take on Sherlock Holmes produced by Judd Apatow with a script written by Etan Cohen for Columbia Pictures.[1] On August 17, 2016, it was reported that Ferrell and John C. Reilly would star in the film Holmes and Watson written and directed by Etan Cohen.[2] On November 14, 2016, Lauren Lapkus was cast in the film to play Millie, with whom Sherlock is obsessed.[3] On November 17, 2016, Rob Brydon, Kelly Macdonald, and Rebecca Hall joined the cast.[4] On January 6, 2017, Ralph Fiennes and Hugh Laurie joined the cast.[5] Filming commenced in early December 2016 in London at Shepperton Studios. In early February 2017, film crews were on location at Hampton Court Palace.[6] Release The film is scheduled to be released on August 3, 2018.[7]

BBC Radio did killer full-cast versions of Agatha Christie's Poirot and Marple, and their Holmes stuff is just as good, however the Poirot TV series they did is much better than any Holmes they've done

Anyway, we're all agreed that Jeremy Brett is the ultimate TV Holmes?

Which Holmes actor was the one that had a meeting with Conan Doyle and Doyle agreed to pick him up at the train station, which the actor had taken completely in character, including costume, and when he got off the train and sighted Doyle, greeted him with Holmes' dry, dismissive tone "I suppose you're the Writer" He's the best one, I think it may have even been for radio

lol but seriously I posted:Anyway, we're all agreed that Jeremy Brett is the ultimate TV Holmes? Definitely. He makes him intense, but without having to say 'high functioning sociopath' every 20 mins. The adaptation of the plots are very good too - most of the episodes are solid, even when the source material is a little flakey (monkey glands)
