"How they think they look." Norton looks tough and scary in that shot. A lot of white supremacists latch on to the imagery and ignore the content. That's the whole point- they're trying to look like a buff badass and don't realize how pathetic they are. Samurai Sanders posted:They did? If so that would be what I was missing. I saw a good video essay recently that goes into the history of Nazi imagery in movies and also pushes back on the whole "if they can say racial slurs, why can't I?" bullshit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62cPPSyoQkE The section relevant to this immediate conversation is at about 29 minutes.

I have seen an old picture of a very similar ice cream on a sign specifically called "friend of the family". Of course, Denmark has a slightly different history of slavery, so it was never as offensive in context. I'm sure the current name refers to nougat filling. Negro buns, also known as negro kisses, are a separate thing that we try to call cream buns nowadays. Old people have trouble with this.

Pray tell, good cartoonist, what did the public of the U.K. do during the bombing raids? Did they go out into the streets to mount a resistance to the bombers, doing nothing other than risking themselves, or did they run to shelters, hide in shelters, and tell the actual trained personnel who had access to the means of dealing with bombers? What's that? It was the latter? Huh.

TBF, if I remember correctly Tei is from spain, and Negro isn't even pronounced the same way there, and it literally is the only word for black they have.
