Saying he wouldn't even vote in a Corbyn government means that he's functionally the same as a Tory MP for anyone on the left.

my inclination is that politicians as a career type blather a lot, and british politicians in the particular like to imagine themselves at the helm of a grand strategy that is coherent and foresighted and certainly not utterly dependent on uncontrollable factors and dumb luck the general of weight of opinion in UKMT is that this standard is insufficiently charitable to the jam man from islington. who has Principles and Honesty. well okay, whatever, it's your call. but to sincerely believe all the claims of an actual, no-exaggeration SPAD saying exactly what one would calculate would be said to win a marginal constituency that maintains nuclear submarines seems to demand a positively wilful level of gullibility

Pushing the shoot to kill policy thing is a super cynical play by the tories, I hope that the combination of it being actually completely unrelated to this terror attack and using a misleadingly edited interview will backfire, but 'corbyn wouldn't have let are boys shoot the terrorists' is easier to assert than 'shoot to kill is a policy we do not actually have that has nothing to do with armed response to an active threat' is to explain.

I am reluctant to wring my hands much over that fact - it were meaningfully illegal, establishment organisations would be the ones mainly deterred by institutional penalties, and it'd be the edgy radicals getting hammered by such a code pretty much all the time. and then we would be continually told that such rules work in the only interests of Capital and their servile, thoroughly co-opted labour aristocracy.
