Has anyone ever stopped to think about Chris Roberts and Derek Smart? I mean REALLY think about them. Both are game developers, you probably already know that, and they both inhabit the space jeanra of videogames. But both have also done things outside of video games. Derek has done sick things to a coke machine, while Chris Roberts IS a coke machine. Chris Roberts put to print one of the worst sci-fi movies of all time, while Derek Smart put to print a documentation of the worst videogame of all time. Last time CR released a game you either had to pay full sticker price, or wait like 3 years for it to show up in the bargain bin. Does he know that has changed? Does he realize many gamers expect to see big discounts within the first year? Or does he really expect Squad42 to sell hundreds of thousands of copies at $60 a pop? LOL

You know, if he'd kept the scope sane, stuck to the original pitch, stopped interfering and let the professionals make the game, this might not have been an inaccurate assessment. If it had succeeded, the game could have potentially grown from there. Then again, only if CR was nowhere near the project from day 1 - slap his name on it to attract the backers who have whatever disease Lesnick has, and go to Monaco. In that case, his constant trips would actually have gotten the game released faster.
