We don't actually know if the guys watts mentioned were either of the guys staking out the car. It's possible but it's left ambiguous at this point. We also don't know if the guys that got blowed up were even looking for Dougie. Might have just been random car jackers that saw a car sitting at a vacant house for three days.

After ep 4 I wasn't sure if those guys were hired by Evil Coop or to do with the people Dougie owes money to, but the opening to ep 5 showed they're connected to the box in Argentina thing, so I'd say the former is more likely now.

I think it's more likely the black car guys are related to the owed money than random dudes, the development doesn't exactly seem like a high traffic area. The woman across the street gave me a squatter vibe. They could've shaken down his favorite hoo-ah for the last place she saw him.

Ok, fair enough. I guess we'll see if they were the people actually looking for Dougie, or some completely unrelated criminals committing a completely unrelated crime. Only time will tell. Comedy option: they are the people looking for Dougie, but now they are scared of him because one of their guys blew up. Boss bad guy gets mad at his underlings for not being able to collect on some goofball insurance man and sends another crew to get him, just in time for evil Cooper to arrive and gently caress them up. Continue hijinks as debtors and evil Cooper are both looking for good Cooper. Sometimes the debtors see idiot good Cooper and move in for the kill, only to be faced with an evil Cooper switcheroo at the last second. Possibly the debtor crew consists of one dumb guy and one angry guy.

Crazy theory here, but the dude that Dougie called liar. This guy is obviously running some insurance racket. Were he and Dougie doing this together? Does that tie into why Dougie owes someone money, and also why he has presumably been spending lots of money or lascivious acts? It also explains a bit why Dougie/Coop knew he was lying, if coop is tapping into Dougies memories.

He was complaining about his arm tingling, then passed out and threw up and was acting bonkers. I don't think I would call that "upstanding."
