Baron Corbyn posted:

Hello friends, it's me again to imbue you with more hope about tomorrow: we broke the record for voter registrations set by the EU referendum last year with the vast majority of new registrations being 18-34 year olds. The youth turnout for the EU referendum was 63%, the best polls for Labour are giving a youth turnout of 50%. This might be good for Jeremy Corbyn.

I WANT TO BELIEVE.

can't the british do the british thing of rooting for the good hearted plucky underdog who came surging back at the 11th hour despite all the taunts of his peers leading up to that point

just for once, you know?

it's nice when they do it when watching the tennis but this one's a bit more important i think

I think it's important for all of the bright-eyed youngsters in their first election to know defeat, to truly taste the grinding misery that is another 5 years at least of Mrs May's jelly grip on the country.

This is Hugh Grant racing to the airport terminal to confess his love, except this time he gets hit by a bus and she marries the other man. The end.

And understand that British liberal political society has no place for hope or fairness and instead flock to the far left that came to Jeremy Corbyns aid basically from day 1.

Sounds good to me.

If I'm reading the data correctly (which I may very well not be), this one's also entirely down to their weighting. It's 36 con 35 lab unweighted.

Okay but unweighted is dumb because there's definite links between age, voter turnout and political support.

Even if it's wrong it'll be closer, not close.

A Monty Python song started playing in my head when I saw the latest polls. "We come from nothing, we are going back to nothing- In the end what have we lost? Nothing!"

Except for the NHS and dignified life for poor people. We're probably losing the remains of those things.
