I used the punk cherries for a very long time. Mostly cause they looked cool, but I think I also had three run speed ups on them, which made them really useful.

Introducing the imaginatively titled "robot bombs" sub weapons. By the sound of things, it's a walking proximity bomb.

EDIT: Yup.

Since there are new subs and specials, they have to change a number of existing weapons. They'll probably work the same normally. For the Octobrush/Hokusai, Subweapon is Robot Bomb, and Special is the Jetpack.

I get that I mean does it have different stats then the uh 2? existing types of brushes. I know one was slower but better range compared to the smaller one.

You are not one of us.
I don't think we've had confirmed brushes in 2 yet, aside from this one.

In 1, the brush that looked like this was a little slower than the other brush but put down more ink. In 2 we haven't seen it in action yet so nobody can say for sure.

"This is the Prime Shooter.
It boasts higher accuracy and range than most other shooters, but it consumes ink at a high rate, requiring careful maneouvering from the user. Recommended for advanced players.
Its subweapon is the Point Sensor and its special is the Amefurashi."

"This is the Amefurashi*.
You throw it with the R button and it creates an ink rain cloud above the point of impact. The cloud will move around slowly, leaving puddles of ink in its wake.
Very effective for securing a foothold or flushing out entrenched enemies."

"This is the Point Sensor.
Though it made an appearance in the first game as well, its effect has been adjusted slightly. Just like before, It tags any enemies near the point of impact, but now the tagging zone will persist for a short while.
It seems much more reliable for finding hidden enemies now."

*An amefurashi is a type of mollusk, but the word "amefurashi" literally means "rainmaker". Not to be confused with the Rainmaker.

Wretched Harp
Nintendo put a bunch of stuff up on the Splatoon tumblr. Nothing you haven't seen, just translations of stuff posted earlier.

The Blaster is a relative of the shooter family, but it fires balls of ink that explode in midair. It’s a bit lacking in the range and fire-rate departments, but when it hits…it HITS. And even when it doesn’t hit, it can still hit thanks to the ink explosion. It comes equipped with a Toxic Mist sub and a Splashdown special.

This new sub weapon is called Toxic Mist. Once thrown, opponents caught in the mist move slower and their ink is slightly reduced. The longer you’re in the mist, the stronger the effect becomes.

This new sub weapon is the Autobomb. As its name implies, once thrown, it will automatically start walking toward a nearby opponent. When it approaches the opponent, it stops and goes KERSPLAT!

Great for brusHing up your skills, the Octobrush is a brush with dense bristles that fling a thick stream of ink with each swipe. It comes equipped with the Autobomb sub and the Inkjet special to keep distant foes on their toes.

This is the Splattershot Pro. Developed for more advanced users by the team behind the Splattershot, it has incredible precision and solid range. Great for players who have a lot of faith in their accuracy and positioning. This set comes equipped with a Point Sensor sub, and you can cover your teammates with the Ink Storm special.

This special’s called the Ink Storm. Throw this device to create a cloud that rains ink down onto the battlefield. The cloud gradually moves away from where the device was thrown.

The Dynamo Roller is largely unchanged from the first game, aside from getting a long-range vertical swing like the other rollers.

Ink Mines have been modified: aside from being able to lay down two mines now, they no longer go off on their own after a while and any enemies caught in the blast (if they don't get splatted) get tagged as if hit by a Point Sensor.

The Sting Ray has been buffed since the testfire. It now fires only when you hold down the ZR button; when you don't, you can aim much faster and see enemies through walls.

Also, the Splash-o-matic is coming back:

Outside of Mario, I expect Splatoon to have the biggest presence at E3. It was a monster system seller on the Wii U, and will be out a month after the show. It's going to be a Switch centerpiece all the way to the holiday season.

So expect them to show off all the cool new stuff like Salmon Run.
