No way he goes from Mclaren to Renault. They barely have their poo poo together.

Why on earth would Mercedes ditch Bottas? He's overperforming in the role they expected him to do and making up WCC points when Lewis is having his lovely days along with a win so far.

Why would Alonso go to Renault? That team is in dire needs of severe rebuilding and they'll be hampered by the underpeforming Renault engines.

Meanwhile you have Williams with one of the chief architects of Mercedes domination, Paddy Lowe, over there and Mercedes engines. I can very well see a scenario of Alonso/Stroll with Williams squeezing Daddy Stroll for every penny he has to offset Alonso's salary. Hell, I don't even think Alonso would even want a full blown retainer at this point. He's swimming from his Ferrari and McLaren pay days and can easily take a paycut in order to be in a competitive car.

Indy :heysexy:

Joking aside, he'll probably have a clause in whatever contract he signs that would allow him to do the 500 and Le Mans most likely than not if anything.

If he goes back to Ferrari I will literally drench this thread with my cum. That man deserves is owed two red WDCs.

Let's assume for a moment Alonso does leave, and Stoffel re-signs. Who does McLaren pick up to make them competitive for wins? Lewis, both RBR drivers, and Ocon are locked up for next year.

Both Kimi and Bottas's contract expire this year. I don't see anyone taking Kimi after this unless they absolutely need a driver, or he goes off to do something else, either is likely possible (or both).

Let's put it like this actually, there's only six drivers locked into next rides next year via contracts: Ocon (FI), K-Mag (Haas), Lewis (Merc), both RBRs, and Hulkenberg (Renault).

Sainz? It'd be a struggle to pry him away from Red Bull but he's probably the best option.

Sainz is so fed up with Red Bull right now. The interview he did where he said he doesn't know what else he has to do to prove to Red Bull that he deserves a main team drive. Red Bull is not ditching Ricciardo or Verstappen for a long time.

Sainz's contract expires at the end of 2017. This is his extra year after Red Bull took up the option to continue on in 2016.

I know Renault is very much interested in him so we'll see how it plays out.

I'm not sure you are wrong, look how happy he was in Indy, Fernando likes positive attention from the press and fans, he likes being able to prove himself and at this point he's already rich for life. Unless he gets offered Bottas or Kimi's seat he's done with F1.

That contradicts literally everythin he's said including the bit where he said he's spent 16 years honing his skills for F1 and his priority is F1. He desperately wants that 3rd WDC and will do anything it takes to get it. He already knows he's good enough to win in literally any other category.

What series can offer him as lucrative of a race seat as F1 and be the top-tier of motorsport that any driver aspires to race in?

Fernando loves racing and being competitive over ANYTHING else. It has nothing to do with attention for him as you note in your other post.

I'm not saying he wants to go, clearly he would rather be racing for the championship but he's not going to be able to do that if he can't get in a Mercades or Ferrari. Racing flat out in equal machinery in Indy, even if it is easy mode for him, has got to be better than pootling about at the back in a car that might poo poo the bed at any given moment.
