I've already posted about this in detail a few days ago. Corbyn has exceeded expectations, but this election was there to be won. May is a disaster and Labour has not capitalised.

If the result matches the exit poll then he has earned the right to stay on, despite failing to secure a labour majority - but this is only a relatively good result for labour compared to expectation, not good in absolute terms.

Flaps has always said that Corbyn not winning an outright majority is the standard he expects to be less than a totally terrible politician. He was quite clear that the Tories hanging on by the skin of their teeth (+150 seats) like, having to go to the DUP to be able to form a government (+150!!) was definitely the expected result for a politician of Corbyn's calibre. If he becomes PM then I guess he can be upgraded from 'the death of Labour as a political force forever' to 'slightly better than Brown'. There was no goalpost shifting, +150 has often been regarded as a bare plurality.
