What are the remaining seats if neither DUP/tory or the left parties have a majority? Sinn Fein abstentionists? Independents?

why not labour-snp-lib dem?

That's 308 seats. 326 for majority. Tories might need a supply and confidence deal but they'll still have more seats.

Not close to a Labour win, but May's lost the majority she sought to improve on. Labour's massively increased the number of seats they hold, and the Tories are stuck with a toxic, evil party that also wants the same brexit deal the left wing parties do.

It's complete loving chaos, and it's all her fault.

If her party want her to go, she will lose a vote of no confidence and she will not be allowed to form a new government

Here's hoping this is the first step on the road to recovery for both the US and UK. :unsmith:

The worst possible outcome is that the Tories reach 319. Then, subtracting the Sinn Fein MPs and both Speakers, they technically have enough MPs to govern alone.

If she doesn't get challenged for the leadership, and as long as she can cut a deal with the DUP to get a Queen's Speech through parliament without getting voted down, it is perfectly regular and constitutional for her to remain as Prime Minister. It's even more likely than you might think, because what Tory would want to jump head-first into this dumpster fire?

the answer is "all of them, but especially Boris Johnson"

My roommate just came back from the UK with the usual crap one brings back from the UK. Among the Fortnum and Mason tea tins and biscuits from Harrods and whatnot is a thing that is explicitly labeled an "iron brew macaroon". It is not a macaroon by any possible way of using that word. it is a mass of pure fondant about the size of a brick, presumably flavored with irn bru, and rolled in walnuts for some reason.

I feel like somehow it's an allegory for this election you've had but I can't quite put my finger on it.
