Nah, let's look forward, not backwards. Last thing we need is to waste this momentum with a traditional leftist circular firing squad

So we can't talk about it when the left is winning since it kills momentum. And we can't talk about it when the left is losing cause it will just drive away supporters. I think endlessly fracturing is the Left's equivalent to gun control on the right - there is conveniently never a good time to talk about it.

Guardian is a straight up Blairite organ and Blairites have just been defeated, their only hope is to hitch their wagon to Corbyn for now and maybe gently caress him over somewhere down the line.

I can't fault him for cynicism: I was calling a 50 seat majority as of 9:30 last night. He wasn't being disingenuous- if he actually believed Corbyn was unelectable, his actions are perfectly consistant with someone trying to advance a Labour government.

You're right in saying that if the center and right got behind him from the beginning we wouldn't be here, but there will be two kinds of those people: those who sincerely didn't believe he could win, who's only sin is cynicism and who can be reformed, and those who couldn't allow him to win because they didn't want it. The latter needs to go.

Was Lib Dem leader when they went into coalition with the Tories in 2010 and propped them up. Went back on his main campaign promise when the tories offered for him not to.

Went into coalition with the Tories in 2010, in an election he promised not to raise tuition fees, was offered by the Tories not to increase tuition fees, wanted to appear grown up so decided to let them raise tuition fees anyway. Also basically voted with them on all their horrible poo poo for 5 years straight.

Libdems were standard student vote material since they were all about abolishing/capping tuition fees, that is until they got into bed with the tories in 2010 and tripled tuition fees. Essentially the libdems destroyed an entire generation's support for them forever.
