The hilarious thing is if they had just stuck to their guns after 2015 they would have got it right this time, but they changed all their weightings based on an outlier. They are shite.

You know, it's been a rough 6 months under the Tangerine Tyrant here in the US, and I confess to my share of politically-induced sadbrains, but last night was beautiful and cathartic. Our "leftist" politicians need to be shown that milquetoast moderate / centrism isn't doing us any loving favors, that we need a strong socialist opposition to stop our constant rightward slide. I want to say thank you and congrats, you beautiful bastards, and I hope sooner than later you get a Labour majority and Corbyn as PM. Also I'd like it if you could make football better and more popular here, as long as you're taking requests. Thanks in advance.

Pesmerga posted:I have a feeling an elephant in the room is how badly most polling companies have got it wrong again. Survation got it right out of the old style polling methods. But Yougov's advanced seat model 'thingy' seemed to have got it almost exactly right. I imagine every other polling company is now going to create their own version as its supposedly 3 elections in a row its got right - just they kept it secret until this election.

So I'm catching up on the thread and i just want to say to all the English morons making GBS threads on Scotland: Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales saved your asses. England alone is 296/533. A significant majority. We only gave them 13/59 (which, yes, is 13 too many but it's also not even close to a majority of Scottish seats), and we even gave some labour seats back which no one was expecting before the exit poll. England would have a majority Tory government without us smaller countries. For once, Scotland did actually have an effect on the outcome of the general election (which I'm super happy about). You're loving welcome.
